Smart Mobile Phones to Cut Business Costs Dramatically.

Broadband-based fixed/ mobile phone service, BT Fusion was recently unveiled by the company

Destined to save businesses across Wales and the rest of the UK millions of pounds, BT Fusion offers the convenience of a mobile phone combined with the value of a BT Broadband connection as Bill Murphy, Managing Director of BT Business explained:

"We achieved an important milestone in fixed-mobile convergence when we launched BT Fusion last year. Now we are making the cost and convenience benefits available to businesses too.

"BT Fusion gives businesses the freedom to use their mobiles how they want, allowing users to make calls on their mobiles from the office without worrying about the cost, and as it is enabled by BT Broadband they get even more benefits from their broadband connection".

Analysis from BT found that UK businesses that enjoy the convenience of using their mobiles in the office no longer need to feel guilty about the cost, as they could save over pounds 14 million a year in call charges with BT Fusion.

Mobile users' calls are routed over a broadband Internet provider network rather than via their phones. Therefore, users only need carry one handset and calls are seamlessly switched between mobile and fixedline calls which in turn mean one bill and one number for all calls.

It also allows access to contact numbers stored in mobile phone memories and as the phones are compatible with GSM networks worldwide, it is great for companies who conduct a lot of their business abroad.

BT Fusion requires a BT Broadband connection, and customers get a free advanced broadband hub until the end of March. The hub is a 'converged' device, handling both voice and data. It uses Bluetooth technology for up to three simultaneous phone connections with BT Fusion mobiles. It is also an access-point for wireless networking, connecting up to ten devices to a BT Broadband connection and each other without the need for wires. Customers will also benefit from the advanced firewall and wireless security which comes with the package.

Aimed at businesses with ten employees or less, the service will undoubtedly save precious time and money. It allows users to talk on their mobiles in the office without paying GSM charges to UK landlines, giving businesses a saving of 50 per cent on mobile calls.

A recent study by Strategy Analytics shows that 22 per cent of mobile phone calls are made in the office, so adopting BT Fusion would cut these costs dramatically.

Under BT Fusion, businesses can choose a quad-band Motorola V560 clamshell or the ultra-slim Motorola RAZR V3B and those ordering before 31 March can get BT Fusion for just pounds 6.25 a month per handset for the first three months and pounds 12.50 per month thereafter.
