MMDA: Number coding lifted on Wednesday, August 21.

The number coding scheme will not be in effect on Wednesday, August 21, as the nation commemorates Ninoy Aquino Day, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, MMDA chairman Danilo Lim advised the public to plan their trips ahead and to always be careful while on the road.

'ADVISORY: Suspendido ang number coding scheme sa, August 21 (Miyerkules) bilang pakikiisa natin sa paggunita ng Ninoy Aquino Day. Planuhin na ang mga lakad at laging mag-iingat sa pagbiyahe,' Lim said.

August 21 was declared as a non-working holiday in 2004, upon the enactment of Republic Act No. 2956, to commemorate the death anniversary of former Senator Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino Jr.
