JTS organizes edutainment program for Tamil children.

Summary: The Jeddah Tamil Sangam (JTS) recently held a cultural and education program on the premises of the Indian Consulate General in Jeddah to as part of celebrations to mark India's 63rd Republic Day. Most of the Tamil community members and their families were present.

Indian Consul General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai attended the event. The program started with "Tamil Thai Vazhththu" and Qur'an recitation. Masters Suruthi Sahar and Mukunth under the guidance of Rafia were the masters of ceremony and their witty efforts were enjoyed by the audience. JTS also remembered the services of ex-Ambassador M.O.H. Farook Maricar and paid homage to him with a one-minute prayer and visual presentation. Sirajuddin, in a poetic expression, paid rich tribute to the former envoy. The children exhibited their talent with their unique dancing skills, and their knowledge in the quiz competition. Their efforts were applauded by the audience. The foot-loose dance organized by Ganesh and team was excellent and was very much appreciated. This program was judged by Pushpa Suresh and her team and prizes were distributed to the participants by Kidwai. A fancy dress competition was conducted by Murali, which brought out the model of different personalities of India through the young promising kids. Haj Consul Mubarak and Consul Welfare Moorthy attended the function and encouraged the children and parents to interact and participate in such events. They also expressed their best wishes to JTS for its activities. The quiz competition was conducted by Javed with support from Kutty and Ezhil. The interactive competition captivated the audience with questions from different fields being asked to competitors and the audience. The audience watched the program with much interest and participated in it with their answers. The patriotic song choreographed by Srividya sent the message of national integration to the audience where more than 20 kids with colorful costumes represented different states of India singing one song with different languages of India. Siraj revived memories of JTS with his video clippings of previous JTS programs being screened. All the sponsors of the program were honored by the JTS executive committee. With the vote of thanks by Miss Sufia Azeem the program came to an end followed by a nice dinner arranged by JTS. The dedicated involvement of JTS members made the event successful.
