KV Svalbard, built in 2001 and equipped with twin 5MW Azipod icebreaking units, was sailing in the Arctic waters as part of the international scientific expedition, Coordinated Arctic Acoustic Thermometry Experiment (CAATEX), led by a Norwegian non-profit research foundation Nansen Center.

In this trial, 10 patients received a single intravenous dose of 50 mg/m2 of ThermoDox, and ultrasonic heating of target tumors was monitored in six participants using a minimally invasive temperature sensor, while four patients were treated without real-time thermometry. Safety was assessed by analysis of magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, and biopsy specimens for evidence of thermal ablation, as well as adverse event monitoring.

Calculation through zircon titanium thermometry demonstrates that the 17 Ma leucogranites have a higher melt temperature (690 ~ 740 AdegC, mean = 721 AdegC) than the 14.4 Ma samples (600 ~ 700 AdegC, mean = 661 AdegC).

Inaccurate thermometry can lead to false-positive fever detection and consume significant resources in unnecessary diagnostic work-ups and medical treatments (e.g., sepsis), while false-negative detections can delay diagnosis and treatment of serious illnesses (Zhen, Xia, Long, & Pu, 2014).

Frich defined ideal requirements for noninvasive thermometry during the ablation (temperature accuracy: < 1-2[degrees]C, spatial resolution: < 1-2 mm while low cost of the technology being a bonus).

The DT173 single input and DT175 dual input K Type digital thermometers are new additions to Martindale Electric's comprehensive thermometry range for contact and non-contact measurements and thermography.

The possibility for GdV[O.sub.4]:[Sm.sup.3+] usage in phosphor thermometry was analyzed in [4], where temperature determination of sensing calibration curves was based on intensity ratios of luminescence of samarium lines.
