Over his 45-years playing brass instruments, he has also played tenor horn (alto horn in the US), euphonium, and trombone.

Raoul Camus (retired, Queensborough Community College; director emeritus, Queens Symphonic Band) played alto horn, and was the arranger for Fireman's Polka.

The current lineup also includes Zachary Nichols (trumpet, singing-saw, alto horn, euphonium, melodica and organ), Ryan Etzcorn (drums) and Anna Burch (harmony vocals).

We also have several musicians playing instruments that have not constituted their previous primary experience--trumpeters playing alto horn, euphonium, and tuba; pianists and organists playing trombone; flutists and vocalists playing cornet and baritone; and so forth.

Crane, who plays an 1859 over-the-shoulder alto horn and has performed with the band since 1996.

His first instrument of many was the upright alto horn and, showing a flair for music, he left home at 14 to find work in the industry.

Although Kinch is clearly inspired by Coltrane, he's currently immersed in the legacy of the alto horn, his trio approach having some similarities with Ornette Coleman's Live At The Golden Circle sound.

No pictures have been taken of the Alto Horn, although it too is scheduled to be photographed in the near future, and it is currently on display in the Cutler Gallery.

There are ten more higher horns, going up chromatically to the shortest horn, the B[flat] alto horn (T:0).

Few, however, have performed it, esperially on alto horn. Since its composition, the Althorn Sonata has most often been performed on saxophone.
