Project Description:

Project submission deadline: 16th may, 2025

In this project, you will visit a local startup company (of your choice) to assess its current
performance management practices (if any). Based on your observations, interviews, and
research, you will design a Performance Management System (PMS) for the company.

Your task is to visit the company, interact with key personnel (HR, managers, and employees),
and collect relevant data. You will then develop a performance management system that fits the
company's culture, goals, and needs.

Project Requirements:
1. Company Overview:
o Company Name:
o Industry Type:
o Size (No. of employees):
o Briefly describe the company’s mission, vision, and overall goals.
o What are the key business objectives the company is trying to achieve?
2. Current Performance Management Practices (If Any):
o Does the company have a formal performance management system?
o What methods do they use to evaluate employees? (self-assessment, peer review,
manager evaluations)
o How often are performance evaluations conducted?
o Interview a few employees and managers about their experience with the current
system (if one exists).
3. Employee Feedback:
o Gather feedback from at least 3–5 employees about how they feel regarding
performance reviews.
o What do they like or dislike about the current system?
o How do they feel about the feedback, rewards, and recognition processes?
4. Design a New Performance Management System:
Based on your findings during the visit, design a practical and scalable PMS.
Include the following:
o Goal Setting: How will you set clear and achievable goals for employees?
o Performance Metrics: What KPIs or performance indicators will you use?
o Feedback Mechanism: How will feedback be given to employees? (formal
meetings, 360-degree feedback, etc.)
o Review Process: How often will performance reviews take place, and who will
conduct them?
o Recognition and Rewards: How will good performance be rewarded (bonuses,
promotions, non-monetary recognition)?
o Handling Poor Performance: What steps will be taken to address poor
performance?
5. Recommendations:
o Based on your visit, provide at least 3 recommendations to improve the current
performance management system (if there is one) or to make the proposed system
more effective.
6. Field Visit Report:
o Include a detailed report of your field visit, including interviews, observations,
and any company documents or survey results (with consent).
o Attach the interview transcripts (if applicable) and feedback forms.
7. Visuals and Charts:
o Include charts, graphs, or sample forms (e.g., performance appraisal form) to
support your proposed system.
