24. On a certain sum the interest paid after 3 years is ` 450 at 5% rate of interest per annum. Find the sum.

25. If the complement of an angle is 62°, then find its supplement.

26. Find the area of the circle and shaded part.

27. ABC is a triangle, right-angled at C. If AB = 25 cm and AC = 7 cm, find BC.

30. Harish bought a gas-chullah for rupees 900 and later sold it to Archana at a profit of 5 percent. Archana used it for

a period of two years and later sold it to Babita at a loss of 20 percent. For how much did Babita get it?

31. Priyanka took a wire and bent it to form a circle of radius 14 cm. Then she bent it into a rectangle with one side 24

cm long. What is the length of the wire? Which figure encloses more area, the circle or the rectangle?

32. From the sum of 3x 2 − 5x + 2 and 5x 2 − 8x + 9, subtract 2x 2 − 7x + 9

33. Harish bought a gas-chullah for rupees 900 and later sold it to Archana at a profit of 5 percent. Archana used it for a

period of two years and later sold it to Babita at a loss of 20 percent. For how much did Babita get it?

34. A shopkeeper earns a profit of Rs. 1 by selling one pen and incurs a loss of 40 paise per pencil while selling pencils

of her old stock.

(i) In a particular month she incurs a loss of Rs. 5. In this period, she sold 45 pens. How many pencils did she sell in this

period?

(ii) In the next month she earns neither profit nor loss. If she sold 70 pens, how many pencils did she sell?
