1.(a)(i). Distinguish between competitive demand and joint
supply. (02 marks)
(ii).Mention any three examples of competitive supply in an
economy. (03 marks)
(b)(i). Define the term "consumer goods". (01 mark)
(ii). Give any four hinderances faced during the delivering of
consumer goods in developing countries. (04 marks)
(c)(i). Define the term Investment Multiplier. (01 mark)
(ii).Given that the change in Uganda’s national income is 320
Billion Uganda shillings and the marginal propensity to save is
57%.Using the right steps, determine the change in investment
expenditure. (04 marks)
(d)(i). Define the term liquidity preference. (01 mark)
(ii). Outline any four causes of increased levels of liquidity
preference in developing countries. (04 marks)

2.(a). Explain the role played by the price mechanism in the
assortment of resources in an economy. (12 marks)
(b). Explain the steps that should be taken in order to improve
the efficiency of the price mechanism in the assortment of
