Fingerprint

The document describes a fingerprint-based security system that uses a fingerprint sensor and microcontroller to authenticate users and grant access. The system registers user fingerprints and then checks incoming fingerprints against the saved ones to open the door for authorized users. It ensures safety and security at protected sites through automatic access for only approved individuals.

Fingerprint-Based Security System

Here, we show a fingerprint-based security system that authenticates users before allowing
them to access a certain building. The technique helps protect sites by automatically granting
access to only authorised users. This guarantees safety and security at secure sites/properties
including military, naval, government, as well as business locations.
The circuit comprises of an Atmega 328 microcontroller connected to a fingerprint sensor
and door-operating motors. Users may first register with the system. The technology enables
monitoring to begin upon registration or enrolment.
The system searches for fingerprints when in monitoring mode. Now, if a fingerprint is
found, the system checks it against ones that are already saved. In the event that a match is
made, the system activates the motors to open the door for those users; otherwise, it does not
do so. As a result, we guarantee a safe fingerprint-based security system.

Block Diagram:
Hardware Specifications
• Fingerprint module
• Door
• Power Supply
• Rectifier
• Regulator
• Atmega 328 Microcontroller
• Push Buttons

Software Specifications
• Arduino Compiler
• MC Programming Language: C

Fingerprint Module:
The fingerprint sensor module has a TTL UART interface that enables direct connections to
microcontroller UART or to a PC using a MAX232/USBSerial converter. When recognising
a person, the user can configure the module in 1:1 or 1: N mode and save the finger print data
there. The FP module may connect to 3V3 or 5V microcontrollers directly. In order to
interface with a PC serial port, a level converter (like MAX232) is necessary.
Access control, attendance, safe deposit boxes, and automobile door locks are just a few
examples of the many end devices that may use this excellent optical biometric fingerprint
scanner.

Features
• All-in-one fingerprint reader with integrated image collection and algorithm chip that can be integrated
into a wide range of finished goods

• Expert optical technology, exact module production processes • Low cost, compact size, and great
performance
• Capable of effectively capturing images with a resolution of 500 dpi; strong image processing skills.
