Why Do Some Brains Enjoy Fear

This document summarizes an interview with Dr. Margee Kerr, a sociologist who studies fear responses. In the interview, Dr. Kerr explains that humans have an innate fear response that releases hormones like dopamine to prepare the body to fight or flee dangerous situations. However, some individuals experience more of a "rush" from these chemical releases than others due to differences in brain chemistry. Dr. Kerr also notes that we can only enjoy fearful experiences like haunted houses when we know we are truly safe, citing an experiment where a baby was conditioned to fear rabbits.

Comprehension check
1- According to dr. Kerr how are our bodies affected by things that scare us?
some individuals feels more affects from the dopamine response than others do,
because theirs brains lacks “breaks” on the dopamine realize and re-uptake is the brain.

Baby Albert is the example of this. Researchers experimenting with the fear response

Connect
I knew and it is known that people have different reactions to fear. Sometimes remain
stunned or in shock without moving and others scream and run as fast as they can. In the
interview he is excited" the natural high from the Fight-or-flight response can feel great.
There is strong evidence that this is about our brain chemistry. Research from David Zald
shows that people have different chemical responses to thrills. One of the main hormones
released during scary and thrilling activities is dopamine. it turns out some people may get
a greater kick from this dopamine response than others do." and I didn't know why the
different reactions were but I thought that it was because of the personality of each one.

Respond(summary)
Why do some brains enjoy fear? It is an interview about fear. This ionterviewe shows five
questions. The first one says: that people reaction in different ways against fear and that it
was not something of attitude but it was a matter of the chemistry of our brain. He also
mentions the fight or flight response.
In the second question, he argues about the conditions in which we have to be in order to be
scared in a funny way. Human beings enjoy fear when they are experimenting fear but
knowing that it exists in a safe environment.
Later in the third question: they tell us about the similar characteristics that monsters or
scary creatures have in different countries. That most of the time the fear is because they
are something unknown, or it is something that is also closely associated with death. They
also mention other data such as fear for recreation is not something from now if not from
years ago but lately technology has been used a lot to create this feeling.
