Preface
New Nepal General Knowledge series is designed by
including diverse sources of knowledge like Geography,
History, Games and Sports, Science and Technology,
Arts and Cultures, etc. for the basic level students to
sharpen their knowledge.
This revised series from 0-7 (zero to seven) has been
prepared by adopting a new vision in the field of General
Knowledge. It is systematically prepared by arranging
different areas of knowledge with suitable colourful
pictures. All the thematic units included in the series

New Nepal General Knowledge series is designed by
including diverse sources of knowledge like Geography,
History, Games and Sports, Science and Technology,

Preface
New Nepal General Knowledge series is designed by
including diverse sources of knowledge like Geography,

My Country Nepal
On April 25, 2015 at about 11:56 a.m. a strong
earthquake of 7.8 Richter scale hit Nepal
which damaged the lives and properties
in 28 districts. It caused the death of 8,856
people and 2309 injury. More than 8,00,000
houses, historical buildings, temples,
etc. collapsed or were damaged.Most of
the damage in Kathmandu Valley was in
Basantapur area, Dhapasi area, Bhaktapur,
Shankhu, Bungmati, Gangabu Buspark
area, etc. The historical Bhimsen tower of
Kathmandu, 'Dharahara' was also destroyed
by this earthquake.
