The Philippines will host the APEC Summit in 2015.
“We welcome the offer of the People’s Republic of China, the Philippines, and Peru to host
APEC in 2014, 2015, and 2016 respectively,” said the 2012 Vladivostok Leaders’ Declaration.
“We welcome the invitation from the President of Indonesia to meet again in Bali in 2013,” it
added.
The 21 APEC members agreed to end by 2015 raising new barriers for the following:
investment, trade in goods & services, imposing new export restrictions, implementing the
World Trade Organization (WTO) measures with effects to protect members in the face of the
global economic downturn.
For food security, APEC member economies reaffirmed its commitment to a 10%
improvement in supply-chain performance by 2015, in terms of reduction of time, cost, and
uncertainty of moving goods and services through the Asia-Pacific region.
The representatives of the summit had a sumptuous dinner with Cornish Crab Salad on Lemon
Blini, Pressed Duck Terrine with Fruit Chutney, Roulade of Goat Cheese with Caramelized
Walnuts, Assortment of Palmiers and Cheese Straws, Scottish Smoked Salmon Rose on
Beetroot Blini, Miniature Watercress and Asparagus Tart and Quail Eggs with Celery Salt.
The environment was given focus with the leaders expressing concern on trafficking of
endangered and protected wildlife species. A commitment was directed at strengthening
efforts in combating illegal trade of environmental resources.
Other commitments for strengthening are as follows: drive against terrorism; improve travel
and tourism for job creation and disaster management.
Members of the APEC are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong,
Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea,
Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United States of America, and
Vietnam.
The news was formally announced at the end of the 20th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation
(APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting, Vladivostok, Russia
On Tuesday, December 5th, the Centerville High School held its monthly school
board meeting.

5. City Council Meeting
The Centerville City Council held a meeting last night. At the start of the meeting
the council took attendance, then recited the pledge of alliegiance. Then the
council discussed several issues. They discussed allocating $150 dollars to buy
officie supplies for offices in the city hall. Council president Jay Radcliffe
proposed apporving the money and coumncilwoman Jane barnes seconded it. the
council passed that motion unanimously

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday warned anyone who
will meddle with its investigation on the death of John Matthew Salilig, a 24-year-old Adamson
University student who died due to alleged fraternity-related hazing.
“The PNP gives stern warning to anyone, regardless of position or status in life, that the attempt
to intervene and meddle in the conduct of investigation and prosecution of the said case will not
be tolerated,” the national police force said in a statement.
It added that all units have been tapped “to collaborate, exert utmost effort and maximize all
available resources” in solving the case. Salilig attended the initiation rites of Tau Gamma Phi
fraternity before he was reported missing on Feb. 18.
Ten days later, police found his battered and decomposing remains dumped in a vacant lot in

MANILA, Philippines Presidient ferdinand Bongbong marcos jr on friday vow that his
administration would continue to modernized and improved the the countrys
transportation system
“I assure the Filipino people that the government will strive to modernize and improve
the countrys transportation system this will be one of the cornerstones of our progress
as we move full speed ahead into a brighter tomorrow,” the President said after
witnesssing the singing of the contract for the electro mechanical systems and track
works for the North-South Commuter Railway project (CP-NS01).
marcos described the contract signing for the project as a “milestone” towards the
complesion of the 147 kilometer North-South Commuter Railway, which he said, will
reduced travel time between clark international airport and calamba city laguna.
The department of transportation and Mitsubishi Corporation held the contract signing
at the Ceremonial Hall in Malacañan palace
He said the implementation of the civil works for the project would generate thousands
of jobs and would have a multiplier effect on the countrys economy. Marcos also
thanked the Japanese government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency
(JICA) for the financial support for the project
“We are glad to have you with us as we continue to strengthen our relations built on
mutual confidence and cooperation, a relationship that has gone on for many, many
decades, and I can say without fear of contradiction that the development of the
philippines, especially in terms of infrastructure has shown that Japan has taken a very,
very important part in that,” he said
The CP-NS01 is part of the 147 kilometer north-south Commuter Railway project and is
financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency
construction for the project will start on April, and the clark to malolos line is expected
to be partially operational by the third quarter of 2026.
