IS 15820 : 2009 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR
ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF ASSAYING
AND HALLMARKING CENTRES
(Page 13, clause E-3.1) — Insert the following note after the informal table:
‘NOTE — In case of mixed lot of up to 10 pieces having same fineness but different type/
design, the sampling for testing may be permitted as follows:
a) In case of sampling by scrapping/drilling, samples for testing shall be taken from a
minimum of 20 percent of the pieces in the lot, subject to a minimum of two pieces.
b) In the case of sampling by cutting/melting, sample for testing has to be taken from at least
one piece.
In these types of lots, a minimum one assay has to be done.’
