1 Other Applicable Documents

This function description is an addition to the Startup manual.
It describes only additional setting and functions which are not already contained in the Startup manual.

WARNING
The contents of the Startup manual and in particular the safety advisories must be strictly observed.

2 Entering expanded parameterizing mode

To enter expanded mode a password must be entered.
For this the following parameter must be set:

P.999: 2 = expanded startup mode

FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH Page 3 of 18 WU_erweiterte_ Inbetriebnahme4_GB.doc

TST Expanded Startup WU

3 Optimizing door operation

The switch off position for Door Close and Door Open will adjusted with the mechanical limit switches or, by
using electronic limit switches, by parameter.
With electronic limit switches is a automatic correction of the limit switch bands possible by activating
P.216 = 2.

3.1 Opening the door

End switch open

P.230

OPENING

End switch close

Fig. 1: Opening the door

The door movement starts with an open command, so that the OPEN-contactor will be energized.
The door moves as long as the limit switch or the limit switch band for the open position has reached.
At this point the OPEN-contactor will be deactivated.

FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH Page 4 of 18 WU_erweiterte_ Inbetriebnahme4_GB.doc

3.2 Closing the door

End switch open

P.230

CLOSING
End switch close

Fig. 2: Closing the door

The door movement starts with an close command or after the auto close time has run out, so that the
CLOSE-contactor will be energized.
The door moves as long as the limit switch or the limit switch band for the close position has reached.
At this point the CLOSE-contactor will be deactivated.
If an open command is given during closing of the door the door will reverse and open.

TST Expanded Startup WU

3.3 New request for automatic limit switch calculation

If automatic calculation of the limit switch bands is factory set (P.216 = 2), the door movement is
automatically optimized.
Here the stop position is measured and the optimum limit switch band is set.

If these settings will not fit to the door, you can set them manually as shown in the following.

You can also make a request for a new calculation. To do this, set P.215 to 1 and save it.

3.4 Correcting the end positions

Parameters P.221 and P.231 can be used to shift the end positions.
Changing these parameters in the positive direction causes the end position to be shifted up.
Changing in the negative direction causes a shift to the bottom.

4 Input parameterizing
The door controller is able to change the function of the inputs.
This is done with the help of input profiles. The input profiles can be used to assign pre-programmable
functions to the inputs.

Settings are possible for inputs 1 to 10 and 21 to 28 (TST RWU only).

P.501 = Input 1
....
P.509 = Input 9
P.50A = Input 10
P.A01 = Input 21
....
P.A08 = Input 28

The possible input functions for inputs can be found in the following table in the parameter list of this
description:

Table 1: Input profiles

5 Output parameterizing
The door controller is able to change the function of relay outputs.
This is done with the help of output profiles. The output profiles can be used to assign pre-programmable
functions to the outputs.

Output relays K1 and K2 on the TST WU door controller can be set as well as K3 to K6 when used with TST
RWU.

P.701 = Output K1
P.702 = Output K2
P.703 = Output K3
P.704 = Output K4
P.705 = Output K5
P.706 = Output K6

TST Expanded Startup WU

6 Maintenance counter
The door controller has a maintenance counter.
Parameter P.005 is used to show the possible open and close cycles until maintenance is due.
Setting Parameter P.973 to 1 resets the maintenance counter.
There are various ways for the maintenance notification to be displayed to the user:

After the maintenance counter has expired

1: Warning I.080 is displayed
2: Only automatic opening and deadman closing are possible and error F.080 is output.
3: Only deadman travel is possible and error F.080 is output

This setting is made at the factory and cannot be changed here.
