1. What is the essence of GAMABA? Do you think having two national credits for human expressions
emphasize the gap between independent articulations and
regular, network-based ceremonies and works of art?
- The essence of GAMABA is giving local artist the benefit of being recognized for their works, with
this award people are encourage to preserve the arts especially in traditions for future generations.
GAMABA bridges the gap and gives equal opportunities to artist who are not often recognized by
mainstream award giving bodies. GAMABA inspires local artist to pass and preserve their traditions
and cultures.

2. How does the traditions become contemporary, and the contemporary traditional?

- As I learn contemporary arts I have learned that if an art including traditions are continuously
practiced and had changes it is contemporary. If a certain contemporary arts uses and is still inclined
with the traditions of a certain ethnicity or locality it is still a traditional art.

3. As a senior high school student, do you consider yourself as a contemporary artist or traditional one?
How and why?
- As a senior high school student who studies HUMSS we are exposed to different arts and often being
tasked to make our own arts. These arts are inspired by previously existing arts that’s why I could
consider my self as a contemporary artist. Giving your own style and improving previous knowledge
for a certain art is what contemporary art is aiming.
