Infectious Disease Repository
- Currently, The Scientific Support Office (SSO) laboratory is a centralized laboratory within the Red Cross performing operational support and applied studies focused primarily on infectious disease testing, contributing to a safe and effective blood supply.
- The SSO laboratory acts as the investigational branch of major blood screening assay developers, performing preclinical assay validations for investigational new drug (IND) applications and Biologics License Applications (BLAs).
- Our work involves collaboration within the Red Cross, with our vendors, federal agencies, and national and international colleagues.
- Additionally, we maintain a plasma and red cell repository available for purchase and distribution to non-ARC investigators. The biorepository comprises the following marker-positive samples:
Director, Scientific Support Office
Senior Director, Operational Research
Standard aliquot sizes are 1, 10, 13, and 45mL for plasma units.
For ordering of materials, please contact David Krysztof or Paula Saa.
The SSO follows GMP. All of our samples are well characterized, and we are willing to supply data and specific demographic information when requested.
