Comic art by Floor de Goede, 2006.
Floor de Goede, who signs his work as Flo, is a comic artist from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Influenced by Disney, he started drawing comics at an early age. He joined comic studio De Zwarte Handel, founded by Maaike Hartjes, in 1998 and soon published his first small press comic, 'Vrouwelijk Schoon Niet Inbegrepen', followed by 'Flo' in 2000, 'Damian' in 2002 and 'Deathboy' in 2005.
'Zusje Van...', from Tina, 2007.
De Goede completed his education in Multimedia Design in 2002 and together with his fellow student Tommy A, he began the online Cutie e-zine. Also in 2002, he went on to create autobiographical comics for the gay magazine Expreszo, which he did until 2008. He contributed stories to MYX magazine and Zone 5300, and started his autobiographical webcomic 'Do You Know Flo?' in 2004. De Goede celebrated the 10th anniversary of this comic in 2014, making it probably the longest running webcomic in The Netherlands. Selections of Flo's dailies are collected in a series of books by publisher Bries from 2004 (a.o. 'De Dagelijkse Beslommeringen', 'De Dagelijkse Heldendaden', 'De Dagelijkse Ergernissen', etc.). The first installment earned him the VPRO Debut Prize in 2005.

Between March 2006 and January 2007, De Goede participated in 'ECHT', a collaborative comic strip initiated by Margreet de Heer, alternated by six autobiographical comic authors for NRC.Next. Flo continued to make illustrations and comic reports for NRC.Next., while also making illustrations for Haarlems Dagblad, Adformatie, Amsterdam Weekly, the Concertgebouw and broadcasting company BNN. He also made the animation for the leader of VPRO TV show 'Villa Achterwerk'.
Between February 2007 and December 2011, De Goede made the weekly comic 'Zusje van...' for girl's magazine Tina. In 2008, he illustrated "comic poems" by Edward van de Vendel, collected in the book 'Opa Laat Zijn Tenen Zien' by Querido. A second book with Van den Vendel followed in 2010, called 'Draken met stekkers'. De Bezige Bij published 'Dansen op de vulkaan', his semi-autobiographical graphic novel about the several stages of love, in early 2013. Floor's autobiographical 'Flo' strip appeared on a daily basis in Algemeen Dagblad in 2008 and in the newspaper Het Parool from 2013 to 2016. In 2007, he won the Clickburg Webcomic Award, or "Clickie", in the category 'Cartoonist Choice' for 'DoyouknowFlo'.
In 2022, De Goede participated in the collective graphic documentary comic 'Bestemming: Canada', published by Scratch Books in collaboration with the Dutch consul in Canada. The book tells the story of ten Dutch emigrants who tried to find their luck in the Canadian wilderness. The other contributors were Erik de Graaf, Aimée de Jongh, Hanco Kolk, Erik Kriek, Mei-Li Nieuwland, Jordi Peters, Emma Ringelberg, Anne Staal and Paul Teng.
Floor de Goede was a strong influence on Melanie Kranenburg.
