Fallout (2024)
Looks like the Real Deal
Source material is rather robust, the world of the games is large, and extending over two centuries.
TV show does not force itself to explain everything, and instead just dives into it, sometimes to extent that can be confusing for those not familiarized with the world, while also can prompt to explore..
Examples like retro-future world that got -stuck- in what can be described as not later than '60s ('70s at best) of real world 20th century, regarding micro processor, chip, micro chip technology and common use, as well as non-existance of Internet, no digital era, etc., an analogue world in combination with highly advanced nuclear and other (vacuum, laser, magnetic, etc) technologies, fitting the mid and late 21st century Fallout world..
Decision to create a new story nine to ten yrs down the line (late 2296 and 97), after the events of latest in timeline game (2287), instead adaptation of existing game, is another positive for the show..
Season 2 is already known TO BE, how nice it would be, if -pushed out- by (late) 2025, while ofc, keeping the season 1 quality, and increasing..
Silo (2023)
Not bad overall
Looks good. Sounds good. Acting is quite a different story though..
The way show starts with main characters, who turn out not to be that, then half way, new, seem to be main characters get introduced, then it gets slow and silly with stuff like fixing the rotor, Silo Security (the world the show exists in is digital) having troubles with trash chutes, and similar silly stuff..
New -main- character actually has a good story with her partner (boyfriend) and her father, also other -human relationships and interactions- are quite normal, meaning not bad..
Story is good too, source material is quite fresh, from 2010/11, if I'm not mistaken, but still quite good, although the way show sets its finale to end, is quite a cliffhanger that can backfire..
All in all, with all its flaws, and lacking, still a good show. There is a season 2 already, so we will see more..
