"They don't know what a nightmare is... they will." Oh damn! Quiver Distribution has revealed the official trailer for an indie action revenge thriller called I Am Rage, from filmmaker David Ryan Keith. It's out to watch direct-to-vod this August - skipping theaters. The film is described as a sweat-inducing new revenge thriller film from the team behind popular action film Army of One (2020). Erin's idyllic countryside trip turns to terror when a sinister blood cult abducts her. But they made a grave mistake - her abductors soon learn the painful consequences of crossing someone with severe anger issues. No, this is not me revisiting that bonkers Nicolas Cage Flick from a couple of years back… This Army of One features Ellen Hollman, a superstar bad-ass leading lady in waiting!
Sometimes a simple premise, executed very well, can get you most of the way. There is no simpler movie concept than a family member going out for revenge for a murdered loved one. If there is then please do correct me but I feel like these stories have been done to death. It is only every once in a while that something like Taken, Death Wish or Law Abiding Citizen comes along and revitalizes things and then we are back to square one when, for the following years, everything is a carbon copy.

"Thought you were dead..." Uncork'd has released an official trailer for an indie action film titled Army of One, featuring "rising action star" Ellen Hollman (who has a role in the upcoming The Matrix 4) as "1st Lieutenant Brenner Baker of the Army's 75th Ranger Division". Not to be confused with the Nicolas Cage comedy also called Army of One from a few years back. While out hiking, Special Forces Ranger Brenner Baker stumbles onto a Cartel's compound. Her husband's killed and she's left for dead. The Cartel made two mistakes, killed her husband and left her alive. They won't live to make another – now she's coming after them. The cast also includes Matt Passmore, Geraldine Singer, Gary Kasper, and Cam Bowen. This is pure jingoism action filmmaking with the added benefit of watching a badass woman take down bad guys. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Stephen Durham's Army of One,...

The newest collection of stories from the master of Horror Manga, Junji Ito. “Venus in the Blind Spot” contains a few iconic works of the mangaka along with adaptations of Edogawa Rampo and Robert Hichens.
Billed as a “best of” release of some the iconic creator’s work, the newest edition from Viz media exists as the highest quality one to date, an impressive feat granted the publisher’s history with the mangaka. However, the phenomenal approach in presentation becomes marred in the story selection which, many fans would agree, is a far-cry from the most notable work created by the master of horror.
To lead on a positive, the release gloriously frames the art of Ito, with opening pages on glossy stock, highlighting his unique visual approach (these pages also include a mini-poster which is a welcomed collectible). In the vein of previous releases, the book...

What will it take for Mellie and Olivia to win the battle against Cyrus and Jake?
On Scandal Season 7 Episode 16, scheming was at the forefront. We've known who the two villains are for weeks now, and watching Olivia and Qpa trying to get the upper hand on the situation was utterly underwhelming.
There was no way Olivia was going to pull the trigger when it came down to it. Hell, it's difficult to imagine her even letting that beautiful old bottle of '76 wine being wasted on the man who is trying to orchestrate one of the biggest coups in the history of the Scandal.
I'm convinced she would have knocked the glass out of his hand at the last second. It's surprising it didn't wind up across the floor. She was trembling like crazy.
While I appreciated Olivia talking a big game, and even standing behind a chair for good measure,...

Things are getting gnarly in the world of Olivia Pope.
On Scandal Season 7 Episode 14, a key character was arrested after it emerged that Cyrus lied about the hacking of Air Force Two.
Below, TV Fanatics Christine Orlando, Lizzy Buczak and Paul Dailly discuss all of the big revelations.
Cyrus is scheming once again. Will he be the final villain of the series?
Christine: I hope so! There aren’t a lot of episodes left, and Cyrus certainly has a long history of being a villain.
Cyrus has me wondering if he would have turned on Franciso Vargas so quickly if he had been President, or if it’s just Mellie to whom he can’t stand playing second fiddle.
Related: Scandal Review: The List
Lizzy: He deserves to be. Deep-down Cyrus has always been the resident bad guy, so it would be a dishonor if they didn't grant him the ultimate villain title.

Well, that was refreshing!
On For The People Season 1 Episode 2, everyone was pushed to extremes as they tried to get ahead in the world of law.
The most significant story of the week centered on Wesam Keesh's Jay, and he tried a thought-provoking case. How do you defend someone who is against everything you stand for?
If you watch For The People online, you likely already know that Jay seemed the most likely to fail when the series kicked off.
The reason?
He talks way too much and had very little confidence in himself. From a moral standpoint, Jay seemed like he was going to fail.

Changing his client's appearance would certainly paint a different picture in the eyes of the court, but the new appearance wouldn't have held much water if pictures of what he really looks like were shown.

Olivia Pope may have a ray of hope.
On Scandal Season 7 Episode 14, the disgraced former Chief of Staff took on a case of a young woman who seemed intent on carving a career path just like hers, all while trying to take down the villainous Cyrus.
Scandal is well-known for all of the double-crosses, but "The List" was a surprisingly satisfying affair that reiterated with a big bang that this show is coming to an end very soon.
If you watch Scandal online, you will know that Olivia has been struggling to get on good terms with her former allies, and well, who can blame them for not wanting to hang around with her?
The moment she gets a whiff of power, she thinks she's the most critical person in the world, and that she has the power to put hits out on anyone who looks at her the wrong way.

Olivia Pope is out!
On Scandal Season 7 Episode 11, Mellie finally plucks up the courage to fire Olivia from the White House.
If you watch Scandal online, you will know fine well that Olivia deserves a jail cell as opposed to the pink slip.
Being fired will make Olivia put things in perspective, but that's not to say she's going to get anywhere.
"Army of One" is an appropriate title for an hour that will find Olivia ostracized from everyone who was once close to her.
But that's not to say she's going to be left in peace to gather her thoughts.
The official teaser for the episode shows a gun-toting Quinn returning from the dead to rub salt in the wound.
With Olivia being played by both Quinn and her father, and absolutely no power, will she be able to talk Quinn into keeping her alive?

Nicolas Cage has made a few questionable career moves for money, but he has drawn the line at being the face of a snack food. Photos of a Deluxe Umaibo Nicolastick bearing Cage's image from the critically panned Army of One made their way around the internet in early October.

A Japanese snack, featuring the face of Nicolas Cage and intended to tie in with his new movie, has caused a bit of a stir...
You may not have heard of Umaibo, but they're a popular snack in Japan. Usually sporting the familiar face of a cartoon cat, they're essentially a large, tubular, crunchy corn snack - if you're in the UK and familiar with a delicacy known as the Wotsit, you'll have an idea of their flavour and consistency.
But in a piece of news that is weird in a quintessentially Nicolas Cage sort of way, the popular snack has recently run into a minor bit of controversy. To tie in with The Cage's latest film, Army Of One - retitled My Target, Bin Laden in Japan - special promotional editions of the Umaibo were printed with the actor's grinning likeness on the packet.

The stars of yesterday now are making three films a year you never knew existed until they show up on Netflix.^ Real Movie ^
In my prior life as a script reader, I certainly read a lot of bad scripts, but at times, an even more common occurrence was a script that seemed to do a great many things right, but somehow fell just short of being something you wanted to champion as a movie. As draining as the terrible scripts were, there’s something pure about clear-cut bad. It takes little effort to explain why they’re unfit.
The real challenges were the scripts that had kind of a decent premise, kind of an okay twist or two, and a lead character who wasn’t bad so much as he or she was just… there. The raw materials are there for what Could be a script. They just happen to be assembled in the least compelling way...

To celebrate the release of Army of One – available on Digital Download 23rd Jan. and DVD/Blu-ray 6th Feb. 2017 – we are giving away a copy on Blu-ray and an iTunes download code courtesy of Arrow Films!
Hollywood legend Nicolas Cage is at his gonzo, goofball best as an American man on a mission to single-handedly mount a war on terror in Army of One. Directed by comedy genius Larry Charles (Borat, Bruno, The Dictator, Curb Your Enthusiasm), it’s made all the more berserk and bizarre by the fact that it is a true story!
As the feckless, reckless bearded Faulkner – a real life character whose ill-equipped warlord hunting antics astounded the world – Cage is mesmerizingly hilarious. Gleefully unhinged, sporting combat gear and wraparound shades, he plays beautifully off stand-up superstar Russell Brand (as God) and Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids), as the high school crush who helps him prepare for his ill-advised solo mission.

Dog Eat Dog and Army of One star Nicolas Cage has been offered the chance to take on the role of Ronald Reagan in a new biopic, according to Page Six.
Not to be confused with the scrapped Reagan, a movie which once had Will Ferrell on board to play the former commander-in-chief as senile, Page Six claims that Nicolas Cage is harboring some doubts about the potential gig, fearing that the decision to portray Ronald Reagan in a positive light could “[infuriate] the liberal Hollywood crowd.” Due to this conflict of interests, negotiations have reportedly stalled, though for what it’s worth Cage’s publicist Stephen Huvane responded to a request for comment by stating that, “it’s way too early in the development process.”

Hollywood legend Nicolas Cage is at his gonzo, gurning, goofball best as an American man on a mission to Pakistan to single-handedly mount a war on terror, in the most outrageously hilarious culture clash comedy to hit the screen since Borat, and directed by the comedy genius behind that film, Larry Charles. It’s made all the more berserk and bizarre by the fact that it is a true story.
Synopsis:
Eccentric ex-convict Gary Faulkner has a vision from God, telling him he must single-handedly mount a war on terror. Faulkner, armed with a single samurai sword bought from a home shopping channel, travels from the Us to Pakistan to embark on his highly dangerous and foolhardy mission – where he runs into bemused locals, irate CIA men, and even America’s most wanted, Osama bin Laden himself.
Army of One is available to rent on VOD and Digital HD from 19th December.

From the melodramatic (USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage) to the satirical (Army of One), 2016 has been yet another confounding year for Nicolas Cage movies. And though it just missed out a December release, the actor will soon be sporting a fake nose and a mean attitude for Arsenal, Steven C. Miller’s mob drama penciled in for a simultaneous launch across select theaters and On Demand services on January 6.
Flanked by Johnathon Schaech, Adrian Grenier and John Cusack, Miller’s pulsing thriller follows the unruly Lindel brothers, Mikey and Jp (Schaech and Grenier), who have developed a seemingly unbreakable bond over the years. They’ve always looked out for one another, in typical sibling fashion, but even in the above teaser alone, Arsenal telegraphs its story beats early on.

In the mid 2000s, ex-con and handyman Gary Faulkner traveled to Pakistan several times to hunt down Osama Bin Laden on a mission from God. The story was reported by GQ in 2010, and now six years later, Faulkner’s story has finally been adapted to film. Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage stars as Faulkner and the film follows his attempts to capture Bin Laden and his various conversations with God (played by Russell Brand). But if you're able to appreciate a wild, uninhibited Cage performance, then look no further than the latest movie from Borat and The Dictator director Larry Charles, which pretty much promises maximum Nic Cage. We've written about Army of One before, but on the chance it's just now hitting your radar, we have this handy clip that gives you the rundown on the true story that inspired a movie about a man trying to hunt down Osama Bin Laden with a sword. It's worth watching just to hear Cage sound like even he can't believe this is a real story. Army of One is out now on Blu-ray and DVD and is available on...

Nicolas Cage’s prolific year began with his performance in the action thriller “The Trust,” continued with a role in Oliver Stone’s “Snowden,” and starring roles in Paul Schrader’s “Dog Eat Dog” and Larry Charles’ “Army of One.” Now, he returns with yet another film this year, “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage,” about the Portland-class cruiser that delivered parts of the atomic bomb used to end WWII. Cage stars Captain Charles McVay as the ship is torpedoed and sunk by a Japanese submarine and now must survive in shark-infested waters with hundreds of other crewmen. The film co-stars Tom Sizemore (“Saving Private Ryan”), Thomas Jane (“Hung”), Matt Lanter (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) and James Remar (“Sex and the City”). Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.

A prolific actor, Nicolas Cage has 77 film acting credits to his name, including three films -- Army of One, Dog Eat Dog and USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage -- released within a week of each other this month. And while he’s had some notable hits (National Treasure) in recent years, nothing’s quite topped the string of films that helped define the mid-’90s.
After gaining notoriety for Leaving Las Vegas, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor, Cage followed the low-budget film with a string of blockbusters -- The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off -- and the romantic drama City of Angels.

I don’t take 1-star reviews lightly, but Army Of One is borderline unwatchable. The story itself – while factually true – feels like an out-of-date Mad TV sketch (funny that Will Sasso co-stars), while Larry Charles directs a coked-up Muppet version of Nicolas Cage. We know the dire professional straights that Cage constantly navigates, but has Russell Brand really fallen so hard to play an angsty God who makes a “holy shit” pun upon his introduction? Charles’ brand of stupidity is never comical, nor is Cage’s zany portrayal of a real-life nutjob (with a sweet heart) ever endearing. Cage may be on a mission from God, but don’t you dare lump a classic like The Blues Brothers in with this tone-deaf mess of reality.

To hear about Gary Faulkner is to know the meaning of the phrase “stranger than fiction.” This is a Chatty Cathy of a Colorado handyman who was visited by God one afternoon while receiving dialysis and given a mission. Of everyone on planet Earth, Gary was the one personally selected by his Lord and Savior to capture Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan and bring him to the United States for “justice and stuff.” Not the Marines. Not mercenaries or Al-Qaeda power struggles. No, the man for the job was Gary Brooks Faulkner. He isn’t crazy—at least not clinically diagnosed despite others trying—or in it for the publicity. He’s merely a concerned American proud of his awesome country and willing to do what the Big Boys can’t.

Most of you probably know Nicolas Cage's history with Superman by now but his love of comic book superheroes goes well beyond that. He recently got to talking about the success of superhero films and had some very interesting things to say about Captain America. He also talks about his almost-casting in Starz's American Gods. In an interview with the La Times about the three, yes Three, films he has debuting this month (Army of One, Dog Eat Dog, USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage) they got him chatting about superhero movies. More specifically, is he surprised that comi book films are dominating the film industry right now? "I’m not surprised at all," he told them. "In fact, as mystical and prescient as this sounds, when I was about 12 years old, when I was really reading comic books actively, I actually had a moment where I thought to myself...

Well before he starred in a series of low-rent Dtv thrillers and memes, Nicolas Cage, now smugly considered an icon of unintentional comedy by so many, used to make mainstream studio comedies pretty regularly. The early ’90s in particular saw a spate of innocuous Cage yukfests (Honeymoon In Vegas, Guarding Tess, Trapped In Paradise), and Army Of One is arguably his first broad comedy since those days, considering the darkness and anguish that run through the likes of Adaptation or The Weather Man. Even this return to outright wackiness finds Cage pretty far afield from his ’90s rom-coms, as he plays real-life crackpot Gary Faulkner, a Colorado man who in the years following 9/11 set off for Pakistan intending to accomplish what the U.S. government couldn’t: capture Osama Bin Laden.

A shockingly ill-advised caper from Borat director Larry Charles takes the left field true story of Gary Faulkner and mines it for zero laughs
In Army of One, a man who experiences hallucinations due to kidney disease has a vision of God, sparking an ill-advised misadventure. I urge the film’s director, the usually great Larry Charles, to immediately seek a doctor’s care, as I fear he may be suffering from a similar condition.

Nicolas Cage is certainly keeping it interesting with his latest roles.
The Oscar winner has been in full work mode with the release of two movies this week. Et recently caught up with the 52-year-old ahead of the release of his latest films: Dog Eat Dog, playing an ex-con with a job gone wrong, and Army of One starring as an American civilian humorously hunting for Osama bin Laden -- both hitting theaters this Friday.
Without any downtime, the actor recalls jumping from one project right after the other, sharing how he ended up with the role of Troy in Dog Eat Dog. "[Director] Paul Schrader was actually calling me about Dog Eat Dog while I was filming Army of One and he wanted me to play Mad Dog," says Cage. "And I was like, 'Paul, listen, I am already playing a pretty wild character. It's exhausting. Can I please play Troy?" The actor says...

If you’ve come into contact with any of Larry Charles’ previous creative efforts – Borat, Brüno, and The Dictator to name but three – you’ll no doubt have a fair idea of what to expect going into the release of Army of One.
It stars Nicolas Cage as Gary Faulkner, a patriotic ex-con and unemployed handyman who’s described as a “modern-day Don Quixote.” That’s because, while down in the dumps, Cage’s bumbling protagonist receives a divine intervention from god himself (Russell Brand), who orders him to travel to the Middle East with a simple, borderline suicidal mission: execute Osama bin Laden.
Equipped with a measly sword purchased from a home shopping TV channel and little else, the results are frankly hilarious, and during his crusade, Faulkner actually made tracks to Pakistan 11 times in total. We know this because his ill-advised journey was documented in Chris Heath’s GQ article six years ago,...

Nicolas Cage has already appeared in four feature films this year: the crime film “The Trust” opposite Elijah Wood and Sky Ferreira; Paul Schrader’s “Dog Eat Dog,” which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival; Oliver Stone’s political thriller “Snowden”; and Mario Van Peebles’ war film “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage.” Yet, Cage has one more film on the horizon for 2016, and it’s easily the most bizarre out of his diverse slate: Larry Charles’ “Army of One,” about a man who travels to Pakistan to hunt down Osama bin Laden on a mission from God. Check out some exclusive stills from the film below.

Nicolas Cage has made a career of playing possibly unhinged men who believe themselves to be destined for greatness even though everyone around them thinks they’re just crazy. But he’s usually proven right in the end, when it turns out that there really is a map on the back of the Declaration Of Independence or whatever. Army Of One takes that basic concept and puts a real-life spin on it, casting Cage as a man who believes that God wants him to go to Pakistan and find Osama Bin Laden. We don’t want to spoil the movie (or any other movies), but let’s just say there’s a good chance he doesn’t pull it off this time.

Scenario: someone walks into your office, slaps a picture of Nicolas Cage sporting a white beard on your desk and goes, “Picture this: he hunts down Osama Bin Laden. It’s a comedy.” Question: Do you greenlight it? If your answer is “yes,” someone has already beaten you to the punch. His name is Larry Charles — helmer of Borat and Bruno — and Army of One, which has just received its first trailer, follows that thread, adding in Russell Brand as God, who comes to Cage in a vision requesting the apprehension of terrorist Osama Bin Laden. Off goes Cage, an ex-con, on his quest to Pakistan carrying a sword and his most pure, unfiltered Cageist swagger.
The trailer suggests full-on farce, including Cage slicing apples with a sword, Brand speaking through different people as God, and even a tape of “Bin Laden” doing his own take on MTV’s Cribs.

Nicolas Cage is on a mission from God in the riotous, rather bizarre first trailer for Army of One.
Hailing from Borat and Religulous director Larry Charles, the upcoming satire fits right into Cage’s wheelhouse, and will have the actor portray a character that is quite simply larger-than-life. That character is Gary Faulkner, a low-life, clumsy ex-con attempting to make ends meet as an unemployed construction worker. But following a divine intervention from God above – played here by a wickedly charming Russell Brand – Faulkner plots course for Pakistan to take down Osama bin Laden equipped with a measly sword purchased from a home shopping TV channel.
Also starring Wendi McLendon-Covey, Paul Scheer and Rainn Wilson, if Army of One seems stranger than fiction, that’s because it is. Gary Faulkner became the centerpiece of Chris Heath’s GQ article six years ago after taking no less than 11 trips to...

While there are a certain slice of current Nicolas Cage movies that operate in the sphere of “so bad, they’re good” mostly, they’re simply not that watchable. And it speaks volumes that the upcoming “Army Of One” is headed straight to video. And while it does feature Cage going pretty unhinged, even in this standard-length trailer, the antics get tired fast.
Co-starring Russell Brand (as God), and directed by Larry Charles (“Borat,” “Bruno,” “The Dictator“), the movie follows a blue collar dude, who believes he’s been given orders by the man upstairs to track down Osama Bin Laden.

Nicolas Cage’s diverse film career has led him down many paths, some have led him to winning an Oscar and playing a superhero, and others are little more off the beaten path, such as his latest performance in the new comedy “Army of One” as a man told by God to capture Osama bin Laden. Loosely based on a GQ story, the film follows ex-con and handyman Gary Faulkner as he learns from a vision of God (played by Russell Brand) that he must go to Pakistan and capture bin Laden. The film co-stars Wendi McLendon-Covey (“Bridesmaids”), Rainn Wilson (“The Office”), Ken Marino (“Party Down”), Denis O’Hare (“True Blood”) and Paul Scheer (“The League”). "He's obsessed." TWC-Dimension has debuted a trailer for a comedy called Army of One, hopefully one of the last Middle East comedies we'll see for a while (there have been a few recently and none of them have turned out that great). In this film, Nicolas Cage stars as an ex-con who receives a vision from God, played by Russell Brand, telling him to capture Osama Bin Laden. He purchases a sword and heads to Pakistan to complete his mission. This is actually loosely based on a crazy true story (why am I not surprised?) written about in GQ. The full comedic cast includes Wendi McLendon-Covey, Rainn Wilson, Denis O'Hare, Paul Scheer and Will Sasso. This looks pretty boring, and even though it's fun to laugh at Nicolas Cage nowadays, there doesn't even seem to be much to laugh at in this. Maybe a few will enjoy it, but who knows.

When I first wrote about Army of One last year, I was very intrigued by the concept. How could I not be? It's a movie directed by Larry Charles (Borat, The Dictator) and starring Nicolas Cage as a guy named Gary Faulkner, who receives a vision from God telling him to hunt down Osama bin Laden, so he goes to Pakistan to see if he can find him. Oh yeah — and it's based on a true story. I was intrigued, but now that I've seen the first trailer for the film (via EW), I'm completely hooked: this looks amazing.
Russell Brand, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Rainn Wilson, and Paul Scheer co-star with Cage, and Army of One will hit theaters on digital HD November 4th and on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and On Demand November 15, 2016.
