Quotes

  • Dr. Loomis : You're talking about him as if he were a human being. That part of him died years ago.

  • Dr. Loomis : Ten years ago, he tried to kill Laurie Strode. Now he wants her daughter.

Sheriff Meeker : Are you talkin' about Jamie Lloyd?

Dr. Loomis : Wherever she is, that little child is in mortal danger.

Sheriff Meeker : Myers has been locked up since before she was born. He's never laid eyes on her!

Dr. Loomis : Six bodies, Sheriff! That's what I've seen between here and Ridgemont! A filling station in flames! I'm telling you Michael Myers is here, in this town! He's here to kill that little girl and anybody who gets in his way!

  • Jack Sayer : You're huntin' it, ain't ya? Yeah, you're huntin' it, all right. Just like me.

Dr. Loomis : What are you hunting, Mr. Sayer?

Jack Sayer : Apocalypse, End of the World, Armageddon. It's always got a face and a name. I've been huntin' the bastard for 30 years, give or take. Come close a time or two. Too damn close! You can't kill damnation, Mister. It don't die like a man dies.

Dr. Loomis : I know that, Mr. Sayer.

  • Dr. Loomis : [encounters the Shape in gas station]  Michael? Why now? You waited ten years. I knew this day would come. Don't go to Haddonfield. If you want another victim, take me. But leave those people in peace. Please, Michael?

    [pause]

    Dr. Loomis : Goddamn you.

    [Loomis shoots]

  • Dr. Loomis : Maybe nobody knows how to stop him. But I've gotta try.

  • Sheriff Meeker : This is starting to spook me here, Doc.

Dr. Loomis : At least I'm not alone.

  • Dr. Loomis : We're not talking about any ordinary prisoner, Hoffman! We are talking about evil on two legs.

  • Dr. Loomis : We'll hear some sirens soon.

Jamie Lloyd : Then we'll be safe?

    Dr. Loomis : Yeah.

Jamie Lloyd : You don't believe that, do you?

    [checks door, then pauses]

    Dr. Loomis : No...

  • [after all the cops at the station are slaughtered]

Sheriff Meeker : How could a man do this, Loomis? Tell me.

    Dr. Loomis : This isn't a man.

Sheriff Meeker : What is he? Tell me! What the hell are we dealing with?

    Dr. Loomis : Evil.

  • [Loomis and Dr. Hoffman arrive at a river where the ambulance containing Michael Myers crashed into]

Dr. Hoffman : When did this happen?

Trooper #1 : Sometime in the night. They probably lost the road in the storm and came down the embankment. It happens.

    Dr. Hoffman : An accident?

    Trooper #1 : Yes, sir?

Dr. Loomis : Do you believe that?

    Dr. Hoffman : Why shouldn't I?

  • Dr. Loomis : I need to speak with Sheriff Brackett.

Deputy Pierce : Well, then you'll have to travel about three-thousand miles south of here.

    Dr. Loomis : What?

Deputy Pierce : Brackett retired in '81. He went to St. Petersburg.

  • Dr. Loomis : Why wasn't I notified?

    Dr. Hoffman : About what?

Dr. Loomis : You know damn well about what! You let them take it out of here!

  • Dr. Hoffman : Now where are you going?

Dr. Loomis : Haddonfield. It's a four hour drive. You can reach me through the local police. If you don't find him in four hours, I'm sure I will.

  • Sheriff Meeker : [Loomis sees Michael standing near a house]  Is that him? Is that him.

    Dr. Loomis : Yes.

[Now a second Michael appears to Loomis' right]

    Sheriff Meeker : Loomis.

[points, just as a third Michael appears]

Sheriff Meeker : Oh Christ, Doc.

    Dr. Loomis : Dear God.

[Loomis and Meeker see that they are surrounded. Loomis aims his gun at the first Michael, who takes off his mask to reveal a teenage hooligan]

Kid in Michael Myers Mask : Hey, don't shoot!

[the other Michaels remove their masks to show it was all a prank. They run away laughing]

Kid in Michael Myers Mask : Oh, that was great. Thought it was me, didn't you, Sheriff?

Sheriff Meeker : Get home, dammit. There's a curfew. I catch your ass, it'll be a weekend in jail! You alright, Doc? Come on, we'll get to the station, we'll get these kids safe.

Rachel Carruthers : [Jamie is shaken by what she had seen; Rachel comforts her]  It's okay, it's okay.

  • Jack Sayer : [offers Dr Loomis a ride]  Get in here, old man. I ain't got till Judgment Day.

Dr. Loomis : [gets into the truck]  Thank you.

Jack Sayer : Anything for a fellow pilgrim. We're all on a quest. Sometimes we need help getting where we want to be.

    [He sneezes]

Jack Sayer : Reverend Jackson P. Sayer of Dumont County. Pleased to make your acquaintance.

Dr. Loomis : How far are you going, Mr. Sayer?

Jack Sayer : God's country, Promised Land. Where you heading Mr, uh...

    Dr. Loomis : Loomis-- Haddonfield.

    Jack Sayer : Car trouble?

    Dr. Loomis : Sort of.

Jack Sayer : You're huntin' it, ain't ya? Yeah you're huntin' it all right, just like me.

Dr. Loomis : What are you hunting for, Mr. Sayer?

Jack Sayer : Apocalypse, End of the World, Armageddon. It's always got a face and a name. I've been huntin' the bastard for 30 years give or take. Came close a time or two-- too damn close. You can't kill damnation, mister. It don't die like a man dies!

Dr. Loomis : I know that, Mr. Sayer.

Jack Sayer : Oh, you're a pilgrim, all right. I saw it on your face back there in the dust. I saw it clear as breasts and blue suede shoes. Would you like a drink?

[Offers him his bottle of whiskey which Loomis accepts as he starts singing]

Jack Sayer : "Yes, we'll gather at the river, the beautiful beautiful river."

  • Earl : Ben, what the Sam Hell is going on?

Sheriff Meeker : Go on home, Earl. This is police business.

Earl : Looks like to me you're out of business. Now I want some answers.

Sheriff Meeker : I haven't got the time or patience to argue with you. Now go home to your families where you belong.

Dr. Loomis : It was Michael Myers. He's come home to kill.

Sheriff Meeker : Let it be, Earl. Let the police handle it

Earl : Like the last time? How many people killed back then? How many kids? Al here, lost his boy 10 years back. Well, not this time, Ben. I'll handle this my own way. We're gonna fry his ass

[pumps shotgun and drives off with the other rednecks]

Sheriff Meeker : Son of a bitch, you just created a lynch mob!

Dr. Loomis : You haven't got a police force! These men may be the only defense you've got.

Sheriff Meeker : God help us.

  • Sheriff Meeker : Oh, Christ. He wouldn't have given up without a fight.

Dr. Loomis : They didn't know what they were fighting.

Sheriff Meeker : How could a man do this, Loomis? Tell me.

    Dr. Loomis : It isn't a man.

Sheriff Meeker : Then what is he? Tell me! What the hell are we dealing with?

    Dr. Loomis : Evil.

  • Dr. Loomis : Why wasn't I notified?

Dr. Hoffman : [takes off his glasses]  About what?

Dr. Loomis : You know damn well about what. You let them take it out of here.

Dr. Hoffman : For Christ's sakes, spare me the speech. I've listened to it for a decade. The fact is, that Michael Myers was a federal patient and a federal prisoner, therefore he is subject to federal law.

Dr. Loomis : We're not talking about any ordinary prisoner, Hoffman. We are talking about an evil on two legs.

Dr. Hoffman : I can see this is useless.

Dr. Loomis : Do you know what today is? Do you know the date? Every day I look at myself in the mirror and every day I remember. Look at me, Hoffman. Take a good look

[shows him his burn scars on his face and hand]

Dr. Loomis : I don't want anyone to have to live through that night again.

Dr. Hoffman : I've said this before, I think you're the one who needs mental help.

    [Phone rings]

Dr. Hoffman : yes, Dr Hoffman. I see. I see, thank you.

    [Hangs up]

Dr. Hoffman : apparently there was an accident just south of Mill Creek, near the...

    [Loomis walks out]

    Dr. Hoffman : Loomis-- Loomis!

  • Dr. Loomis : [they arrive at the crash site]  Is that it?

Dr. Hoffman : Yes. When did this happen?

Trooper #1 : Sometime in the night. They probably lost the road in the storm and came down in the embankment-- it happens.

    Dr. Hoffman : An accident?

    Trooper #1 : Yes sir.

Dr. Loomis : You believe that?

    Dr. Hoffman : Why shouldn't I?

Dr. Loomis : How many people in the bus?

Dr. Hoffman : Four, plus Myers.

Dr. Loomis : How many bodies did you find?

Trooper #1 : It's hard to tell, they're all chewed up.

[Loomis goes over to the upturned crashed ambulance in the water]

Dr. Hoffman : Loomis, it's over leave it alone.

Dr. Loomis : [coming out from the wreckage]  He's gone. He was here but he's gone.

Dr. Hoffman : Did you find any other bodies?

Trooper #1 : Not yet, there's alot of ground to cover.

Dr. Loomis : You won't find him. He's done all this... now he's escaped.

Dr. Hoffman : You don't know that. Michael could have been thrown from the bus.

    Trooper #1 : I've seen bodies thrown 50, 60 feet from a crash site.

Dr. Hoffman : Even if by some miracle Michael is conscious, his-his muscles would be totally useless. Give the troopers a chance to search.

Dr. Loomis : You're talking about him as if you were a human being. That part of him died years ago.

Dr. Hoffman : Now where are you going?

Dr. Loomis : Haddonfield. It's a four hour drive. You can reach me through the local police. If you don't find him in four hours, I'm sure I will.

  • Dr. Loomis : I need to speak to Sheriff Brackett.

Deputy Pierce : Well then you'll have to travel, about 3,000 miles south of here.

    Dr. Loomis : What?

Deputy Pierce : Brackett retired in '81. He moved to St. Petersburg.

Dr. Loomis : Oh, well, who's the new sheriff?

Sheriff Meeker : I am. Ben Meeker.

Dr. Loomis : Oh, Sheriff Meeker, my name is Doctor...

Sheriff Meeker : Loomis. Folks around here aren't likely to forget your face. At least not cops. So, what brings you back here after 10 years?

Dr. Loomis : Michael Myers has escaped from Ridgemont. He's here in Haddonfield.

Sheriff Meeker : That's impossible. Michael Myers is an invalid.

Dr. Loomis : He's here, Sheriff.

    Sheriff Meeker : Why?

Dr. Loomis : Ten years ago, he tried to kill Laurie Strode. Now he wants her daughter.

Sheriff Meeker : Are you talking about Jamie Lloyd?

Dr. Loomis : Six bodies, Sheriff, that's what I've seen. Between here and Ridgemont, a filling station in flames! I'm telling you Michael Myers is here, in this town! He's here to kill that little girl and anybody who gets in his way!

Sheriff Meeker : All right, Pierce, call the troopers and check his story out. And assuming what you say is true.

Dr. Loomis : It's true, Sheriff.

Sheriff Meeker : All right, all right, it's true. Now what the hell can we do to avoid a repeat of ten years ago?

Dr. Loomis : Find this little girl, and get her someplace safe. Call the local TV station, tell them to get people off the streets and behind locked doors.

Deputy Pierce : Can't get long distance, Sheriff. Operator says the lines are down.

Sheriff Meeker : All right, let's go.

Dr. Loomis : When he makes that call...

Sheriff Meeker : All right, Pierce, do it. Let's check on this little girl.
