Ever since its beginning in 2011, Game of Thrones stars Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington immediately hit it off. The pair first met on set and quickly developed a brother-sister-like relationship. Despite playing intense and often heavy roles, their friendship was full of lighthearted moments. In fact, the actress who portrayed Daenerys Targaryen even often referred to the 37-year-old as her best friend, and their close connection only deepened as the show progressed.

However, during the seventh season of the adapted show, Clarke and Harington’s characters began an on-screen romance. Although the intimate scenes may have been a little awkward for the besties at first, the actress revealed that the Jon Snow actor found a way to make it worse.

Fans of Game of Thrones probably had a shock when Jon Snow was killed by his own men during the mutiny scene at Castle Black. The lord’s association with the wildlings sowed a seed of sympathy for them, which members of the Night’s Watch didn’t like.

When it comes to the controversy over women’s objectification in Hollywood, Natalie Dormer and Chris Pratt are on opposite sides of the battlefield. While Pratt has raised concerns about the portrayal of women, especially in blockbuster films, Dormer—ever the fierce advocate for artistic integrity—has a different perspective. The Game of Thrones star, who is no stranger to playing complex and often provocative roles, defended the series, calling its portrayal of women ‘naturalistic’ and not exploitative.

Back when they were making Game of Thrones, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss developed a reputation for pranking their actors. They gave a fake script to Kit Harington where Jon Snow gets horribly burned. They made Rose Leslie (Ygritte) think she was going to have to sing on camera, and in their masterpiece, they had John Bradley (Sam Tarly) go in for a costume fitting even though they never actually intended him to wear this ridiculous outfit onscreen:

Back in 2015, when Game of Thrones was near the peak of its popularity and influence, star Kit Harington (Jon Snow) talked about some of the weirder aspects of his newfound fame, including that he was uncomfortable being sexually objectified so openly. “To always be put on a pedestal as a hunk is slightly demeaning,” he said at the time.” “It really is and it’s in the same way as it is for women. When an actor is seen only for her physical beauty, it can be quite offensive.”
Well, it’s not just men that can be inappropriate sexually; women can be as well. I’m in a successful TV show in a kind of leading man way and it can sometimes feel like your art is being put to one side for your sex appeal. And I don’t like that. In this position you get asked a lot,...

Kit Harington played Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, which for years was the biggest, most talked-about show in the world. That came with a whole host of pressures, as Harington detailed in a recent interview with GQ. "I was trying to project this image of utter sophistication and coolness about what I was doing but genuinely [was] sort of terrified about everything,” he said.
Harington was also dealing with substance abuse behind the scenes, checking into rehab around the time of the Game of Thrones series finale, which was famously lambasted by fans unhappy with the way things ending. “I went in and everyone loved Thrones; I came out and everyone hated it,” Harington remembered. “I thought, What the fuck is going on?!”

For the bulk of the 2010s, Game of Thrones was the most celebrated show on TV, a fantasy epic that combined dragon-riding escapism with complex character drama befitting a flagship HBO series. Then, in 2019, things turned, with many fans voicing their unhappiness with the final season and the series finale, where Jon Snow (Kit Harington) killed the genocidal Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) before heading back to the Night's Watch.
To this day, opinions differ on why the final season received so much blowback. Was it the pacing? Was it the storytelling choices? Was it toxic fandom run amok? For Harington, it was a surreal experience. “I went in and everyone loved Thrones; I came out and everyone hated it,” he told GQ. “I thought, What the fuck is going on?!”
Harington admitted that there were some problems with the final stretch of the show, and provides an insider's perspective on why that might have been.

Actor Kit Harrington is best known for his role as Jon Snow in the fantasy series Game of Thrones. The actor played the bastard son of Ned Stark for eight seasons and was one of the most popular characters in the pop culture-defining show. Harrington was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his performance.
However, the biggest win for him from the show has to be finding his life partner Rose Leslie. Leslie played Ygritte, the Wildling who falls in love with Jon Snow, with many fans shipping the two exclusively. While Ygritte succumbs early in the show, Harrington and Leslie ending up together in real life has given fans a lot of solace.

Things are looking up for Detective Chief Inspector Amy Silva and her Scottish police (and romantic) partner Kirsten Longacre in Vigil Season 2, premiering February 15 on Peacock. Instead of trying to solve a murder among the sailors within the confines of a nuclear submarine, as they did in the first season of the hit U.K. thriller, the two women, played by Gentleman Jack’s Suranne Jones and Game of Thrones’ Rose Leslie, are now investigating a case within the Royal Air Force—on land. In the six-episode season, a prototype combat drone has been compromised, killing several soldiers during a demonstration. The investigation takes Silva to the Persian Gulf, where a wider conspiracy is discovered. The series filmed in Scotland and Morocco, and according to executive producer Jake Lushington, while people may initially miss the submarine, “hopefully it won’t take long before our action-packed opening throws them headlong into this different mystery and territory.

“I realized that my life was hinging on this,” he told host Ben Branson. “Luckily, it was the right place at the right time. I managed to forge a new life from there.”
Harington claimed that he “entered rehab drunk, sobered up in there, and went, ‘F— this, not you guys in a circle. No, thank you.’”
Harington eventually went to a second rehab facility, was where he was made aware of his Adhd.
“And I left that pretty quick and said, ‘I’ll try to deal with this by myself,’ which didn’t work after about four years,” he said.

Warning: contains spoilers for Vigil series one.
Dci Amy Silva is back! Even if most people would have quit Police Scotland and retrained as a florist the moment we hit dry land after what happened on board nuclear submarine Hms Vigil, Silva is not most people.
In Vigil series two, Silva is taking on a different branch of the British Armed Forces – the Royal Air Force. When a brutal incident occurs at a Scottish air base, Silva is drafted in to kick ass and take names. And seeing as it’s now over two years since the first series aired on BBC One, here’s a brief reminder of where Silva, her step-daughter Poppy, her partner Kirsten Longacre and their last case were left.

This spoiler-free review is based on the three episodes made available to preview.
Between Christmas specials and twinkly festive ads, TV can get cloying at this time of year. What’s needed to cut through the Baileys truffle eggnog of it all is a show from the ice-cold ‘Send a Team to the Perimeter’ genre. Action! Intrigue! Explosions! Cliff-hangers! A formula that keeps us alert while while the rest of the season gently cosies us to sleep.
Vigil is exactly that show. Airing on consecutive nights and available to stream in three-episode chunks released a week apart, it’s a shot in the arm for the Christmas TV schedule and makes a solid binge-watch.
It’s a couple of years after Dci Amy Silva (Suranne Jones) closed the case on Hms Vigil – the nuclear submarine beset by a Russian-sponsored saboteur – and she’s in a better place now. Well, it’s still Glasgow,...

Hollywood star Kit Harington is uncomfortable with his sex symbol status. The 36-year-old actor gained a global sex symbol after playing Jon Snow in the series ‘Game of Thrones’, but Kitnever wanted to become so well-known for his good looks.

Showmances are a tricky proposition. When you are an actor, you often get thrust into a situation with someone that requires you to be emotionally vulnerable and open with that complete stranger for a brief period of time. Naturally, a person doing that will create a bond or intimacy with their fellow actor, and this leads to loads of actors hooking up with or dating their co-stars. This doesn't just happen on big-budget movies or TV shows either. You look at any high school theater department, and there are at least two people getting together in that cast.
Because these circumstances are so odd and create such a whirlwind, most of these showmances don't last very long. Once their senses aren't as heightened and they aren't spending every hour of every day together, that fire quickly fades, and they go their separate ways. However, some work out, and I am always pleased when they do.

Kit Harington's family with wife Rose Leslie has grown by one with their newest little addition. On July 3, a rep for the couple, who tied the knot in a romantic Scottish ceremony in 2018, confirmed to Popsugar that they welcomed their second child, a baby girl, who now joins their son that arrived in 2021.
Harington broke the news about his growing family on a Feb. 3 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," sharing that his first child is "about to get the shock of his life." And though he's been keen on keeping his oldest out of the public eye, the dad of two and "Game of Thrones" alum has shared some of his parenting concerns previously.

Rose Leslie, 36, and Kit Harington, 36, have welcomed their second child, a daughter, two years after the birth of their firstborn, a son.
Neither of the children’s names have been disclosed.
The couple’s preference to keep their children’s identities and lives private is no surprise as they dated privately for nearly four years before they made their red carpet debut in 2016 as an official couple. Within two years of the debut, the Game of Thrones couple announced their engagement with a local newspaper in their hometown and exchanged vows in Scotland.
In a 2017 interview with The Guardian, Harington said he doesn’t believe in talking about relationships with the media.

In a 2017 interview with The Guardian, Harington said he doesn’t believe in talking about relationships with the media.

Former Game of Thrones co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have welcomed their second child.
A rep for the stars confirmed the news to People, noting that the couple is “delighted to have welcomed a little girl into the family.”
The Eternals actor announced the news that they were expecting again during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February, saying their 2-year-old son was “about to get the shock of his life.”
Harington explained to the host that his mindset was different this time around than it was when they were preparing for their first child.
“I’m terrified. You know, with the first baby, you’re like walking on clouds and dancing through fields of daisies for nine months — well, the man is, anyway,” he quipped. “But this time, the reality check comes much shorter. You get practical real quick.”

No matter how you feel about the ending of "Game of Thrones," one thing is for sure: Emilia Clarke definitely gave an unforgettable performance as Daenerys Targaryen. In addition to breaking millions of hearts in the show's conclusion, Daenerys's love life sparked countless theories and debates - and of course, fans wound up shipping Clarke with many of her onscreen love interests, including Jason Momoa and Kit Harington (who happens to be married to his "Game of Thrones" costar Rose Leslie).
Clarke has had several real-life relationships of her own, and she's also experienced heartbreak. In 2020, when asked what advice she'd give her 18-year-old self, Clarke had some genuine wisdom to offer. "You're going to feel some serious heartbreak," she said, per People. "You're going to feel some proper things, and the reason why it's going to hurt so much it's because, that heartbreak is going to make you doubt yourself.
