As Arjun Varain Singh’s Kho Gaye Hum Kahan approaches its climax, Imaad Ali (Siddhant Chaturvedi), a stand-up comedian, discloses a poignant reality about his life to his open mic audience, a bitter reality that he has concealed from both his friends, Ahana (Ananya Panday), and Neil (Adarsh Gourav). No doubt there are ample genuine moments that weave a poignant tale mirroring the trials and tribulations of the millennials attempting to find their footing in a world driven by digital validation. Yet amid their uncertainties and yearnings, a subtle artificiality lingers like a thin veil, preventing us from plunging into the characters’ lives...

Foreword
Web series on streaming platforms have warranted a far more emotional investment both for actors in the cast and from the viewers who would try and get involved in the characters. Their sequels, however, are rarely as engrossing as the original first season of episodic developments. And for the same reason, I, for one, am a tad sceptical about watching successive seasons with as much enthusiasm as I am for the preceding ones. Unless it is ‘Made In Heaven’.
Made in Heaven Season 2
This series is a compelling watch and though there isn’t anything spectacularly novel about its storyline, the production values, immaculate writing and superb acting by the entire cast makes it riveting. It represents what present-day India is all about. Conservative on the one hand and modern in many ways with progressive mindsets of traditional people who face conflicting ideas to deal with at every step.

“Devdas,” the 1917 novella by Bengali author Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, is one of the most commonly adapted stories in Indian cinema, and the tale's star-crossed romance and harsh critique of contemporary social mores have served as an influence for countless books and films. By the time then up-and-coming auteur Anurag Kashyap began conceiving his own take on “Devdas,” there had been at least fifteen movies directly or indirectly based on the novel, and the wildly popular Shah Rukh Khan version had recently been released in 2002. Not wanting to merely copy what came before, Kashyap decided to alter the story to reflect 21st-century social issues. This resulted in 2009's “Dev. D,” a bold adaptation that brought an arthouse style to general audiences.

Exclusive: Indian director Dibakar Banerjee’s Tees has been shelved by Netflix and the auteur is now seeking a new home for the feature.
Netflix confirmed it has no plans to release the feature, but has not commented on the reasons for shelving it.
Tees was announced in 2019 as a Netflix original under its previous title Freedom as “the story of an Indian family interwoven with the personal, ideological and sexual history of India.”
Banerjee shot the Hindi-language film in 2020 and delivered it to Netflix in May 2022, but it remained in limbo for several months until the streamer confirmed that it has no plans to proceed with a release.
The International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR) invited Tees to premiere in the Limelight section of this year’s edition, but Banerjee was unable to secure Netflix’s approval to screen the film.

Goldfish
“Let’s just get through this,” Anamika (Kalki Koechlin) says brusquely as she pushes past her mother in the doorway and heads up the stairs to her old room. We understand very quickly that the relationship between Anamika and her mother, Sadhana (Deepti Naval), is fraught, and that Anamika had left her neighbourhood and her mother behind. But Anamika gets a call from a neighbour, Laxmi Natrajan (Bharti Patel) after her mother causes a fire while making pakodas. “Fire brigade?” asks Anamika. “Yeah, fire brigade, social services, social security, local council,” Laxmi tells her. Sadhana, we learn, is in the early stages of dementia, and will require a needs assessment, which she patently refuses to take. “Hey,” Laxmi tells Anamika, “I said come. I didn’t say it would be easy.”
And easy it is definitely not. Anamika finds herself caught between two worlds, the England she lives in...

Indian actresses Kalki Koechlin and Deepti Naval will star in the upcoming film ‘Goldfish’ directed by cinematographer Pushan Kripalani. The film will explore the subject of dementia.
The film follows the story of Anamika, a half-Indian half-English woman, who returns home to the UK, to deal with her mother’s dementia and the scars of her childhood.
“It’s very difficult to make independent cinema, as it does not get funded easily and so it’s taken me this long to get to make this film. I feel that dealing with larger questions is only possible by examining the smaller parts of human relationships. I feel that my job is to further the human conversation and this was a wonderful way to attempt to do that, Kripalani told Variety.
Kripalani is returning to the director’s chair seven years after his acclaimed directorial debut ‘The Threshold’.
