For more than a decade, the cast of Modern Family entertained fans with their shenanigans. Featuring a dysfunctional family that was relatable to the max, the ABC sitcom saw the story of the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker family and their lives in LA. The show won several Primetime Emmys during its run, including Outstanding Comedy Series five times.
It has been four years since the final episode of the sitcom aired and fans have definitely missed the family a lot. Many child actors grew up with the show and have gone on to graduate in their careers. The adults have since gone on to work on several other projects. Here is an update on all the main cast members of Modern Family.

Modern Family is hands down one of the best American sitcoms of modern times. It was certainly incredible watching all the actors grow up on set while sharing some of their most iconic moments in front of the camera, together. And surely, when they first met each other before the show turned into what it was, they probably didn’t know they’d hit it off so well!

Julie Bowen opened up about the possibility of a Modern Family reunion.
The 54-year-old actress played Claire Dunphy on the sitcom, which aired between 2009 and 2020.
Earlier this year, she reunited with costars Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet at the 2024 SAG Awards. The group joked around about rebooting the series on the stage. Is that actually a possibility?
Keep reading to find out more…
Speaking to the New York Post, Julie confirmed that she was interested in returning to the show.
“Of course, I would be game. I can’t imagine any of us wouldn’t be. We’re stupid for each other,” she said.
However, she added that she had “no idea” if it would actually happen, explaining “You know, that’s up to [Steven] Levitan and [Christophoer] Lloyd [series creators] in the end.”
Her comments come just a few weeks after another star from the franchise teased a possible reunion.

Modern Family‘s Eric Stonestreet was allegedly nasty to a podcast host, exposing a very different side to him away from his character, Cameron Tucker. The character won over audiences with his creative flair and incredibly empathetic nature in the series. However, Taylor Strecker called him the worst guest on her podcast.

Eleven seasons and 250+ episodes is one hell of a run for a show, especially a sitcom. But that’s just where Married…with Children ended. So when you find out your show has been canceled after that long, you can probably proudly reflect on all that you’re leaving behind, knowing that future generations will continue to discover your work. But when you get the news from some randos, that might put a bit of a sting on it. That’s just what happened with Al Bundy himself, Ed O’Neill, discovering that Married…with Children wouldn’t be returning for a 12th season.
Appearing on the MeSsy podcast with Jamie Lynn-Sigler and Married…with Children co-star Christina Applegate, Ed O’Neill recalled being back in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio and finding out that he would no longer be stocking the shelves at a Chicago shoe store. “A car pulled...

Being a major cast member of a hit sitcom doesn’t guarantee a proper farewell. At least it didn’t for Christine Applegate and Ed O’Neill. The former castmates sat down recently to discuss their time on Married…With Children and how they heard about the show’s Cancellation. The duo revealed that Fox, the network that aired the show, never bothered to tell the cast the series had been canceled. They each learned about the show’s cancellation from random strangers.

Christina Applegate’s Married… With Children papa, Ed O'Neill, was this week’s guest on the MeSsy with Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler podcast. “I don’t even know how to explain this person,” Applegate said as she introduced her fictional father. “He raised me, so if you don’t like anything about me, it’s his fault.”
To be fair, she added, “If you do like anything about me, also his fault.”
Applegate almost didn’t get to play Kelly Bundy to O’Neill’s Al Bundy. At 15, the young actress read the pilot script and concluded, “This is toilet humor. And I don’t do toilet humor. It’s totally gross.”
Married… with Children hired two other kid actors — David Faustino wasn’t an original Bundy either — and shot the pilot. “It didn’t work,” Applegate remembered. “They came to me and said, ‘Please, please just watch the pilot that we did.

It's been15 years since Modern Family premiered, so a good time to focus on how old the cast of this hit ABC comedy was then and now!
Some may have forgotten that the first episode of Modern Family had a twist at the end. It appeared to be a documentary focusing on three different families in various levels of marriage. The final scene revealed they were one large extended family of the Pritchetts.
For 11 seasons and 250 episodes, viewers loved to see the family grow amid various escapades and misadventures, but the family bond was always there. It was a big ratings hit and won five Emmys for Outstanding Comedy series to boot.
The show signed off in 2020, but the cast has reassembled for some commercials, so here's a look at how old they are now!

Sofia Vergara is a Hollywood mystery for sure. The only thing that justifies her beauty is that the Colombian bombshell has found the fountain of youth, or at least a really good skincare routine and an even better diet. Because at 52, she’s still turning heads with a glow that’s as dazzling as ever.

“Why the fuck do you think that Gloria Pritchett is gonna be able to play Griselda Blanco?”
That’s what Sofía Vergara assumed Eric Newman, the showrunner of Netflix’s “Narcos” franchise, would say when she told him she not only wanted to executive produce a series about the murderous Colombian drug lord, but she wanted to star in it.
After all, Vergara had spent 11 years as Gloria, the hilarious, ditzy trophy wife of Ed O’Neill’s Jay Pritchett on “Modern Family.” Gloria had been an important role for Vergara — not only did it put her on the map, but she portrayed the only adult character of color on a show about an affluent white family. She received four Emmy nominations for the part and was a crucial player in the show’s five-year winning streak in the comedy series category. So would audiences be open to her playing a dramatic part?...

[This story contains spoilers from the FX limited series Clipped.]
Adapting true narratives is often a tricky proposition. And it gets even trickier when it’s as unbelievable and unprecedented as the fallout from 80-year-old Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s viral racist comments against Black people back in 2014 — just as Instagram and Twitter were in their infancy, and TMZ and Kardashian culture was extending their cultural imprint.
All of that fuels the FX series Clipped, which ended its limited series run on Tuesday.
Having as its guide the ESPN 30 for 30 podcast The Sterling Affairs from Ramona Shelburne (the ESPN writer also served as an executive producer on the series) was both helpful and challenging for Gina Welch, the creator and showrunner for the TV adaptation, whose impressive credits as both writer and producer include Feud and Ray Donovan.

On April 25, 2014, TMZ released recordings of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling criticizing his assistant V. Stiviano for “associating with Black people.” The following week, Stiviano, a biracial Black woman, sat across from Barbara Walters on ABC News and called herself Sterling’s “confidant,” “best friend” and, most bizarrely, his “silly rabbit.”
In a moment that has since been memed into oblivion, Walters asked for a little clarification: “His what?” Stiviano repeated herself, but when Walters asked, “His silly rabbit? Is that what he calls you?” Stiviano gave a quiet, “No.”
Cleopatra Coleman has her own understanding of the nickname.

FX on Hulu’s limited series Clipped is certainly a surprise watch of the summer.
Based on the viral Los Angeles Clippers scandal a decade ago, Clipped, the screen adaptation of the hit ESPN 30 for 30 podcast The Sterling Affairs, takes a fly-on-the-wall approach (similar to HBO’s now-canceled Lakers series Winning Time, but with a lot more fireworks) to dive into the fallout, as well as the imagined philosophical and real details, of the explosive chapter surrounding Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s recorded racially charged comments to his dubious and attractive “employee” V. Stiviano, whom he reportedly met at a Super Bowl party in 2010.
In the recording, made public by TMZ Sports on April 25, 2014, Sterling responds very negatively to Stiviano’s Instagram post of her and a friend with Magic Johnson, telling her that, “It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with Black people.

Hollywood beckoned, and he took supporting roles in the likes of Lethal Weapon 4 and Nurse Betty, as well as writing and directing feature films Down To Earth and Head Of State. After the much publicized incident at the Oscars two years ago, Rock released Netflix special Selective Outrage and co-starred in civil rights drama Rustin.
In 2005, autobiographical sitcom Everybody Hates Chris premiered on television. Broadcast on Channel 5 in the UK, the show portrays a semi-fictionalized version of Rock’s childhood. Tyler James Williams portrayed a teenage Rock, alongside Terry Crews as father Julius, Tichina Arnold as mother Rochelle, Tequan Richmond as younger brother Drew, Imani Hakim as younger sister Tonya and Vincent Martella as Rock’s school friend Greg.

Spoiler Alert: This article discusses the fourth episode of FX’s “Clipped,” “Winning Ugly,” now streaming on Hulu.
Jacki Weaver had always wanted to play Lady Macbeth. In an interview with The Guardian, the celebrated Australian actor shared her wishes to play the role, with the caveat that, being in her 70s, she may have aged out of the part. But now, with FX’s “Clipped,” Weaver gets an opportunity close to it: She plays Shelly Sterling, the wife of a modern-day Macbeth, in the power-obsessed, narcissistic land baron Donald Sterling (Ed O’Neill).
Even so, the actor bristles at the comparison when it’s posed to her.
“I went into this thinking Shelly deserved everything she got — that she was just as bad as he was. … But she’s a bit of a victim in a way,” Weaver says in an interview. “Shelly really did love Donald somewhere deep down,...

In the moment, it all seemed like a big joke. Just a few months ago, all the senior members of the Modern Family cast — Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet — reunited at the SAG Awards to joke about post-sitcom life.
“I just sometimes get a little nostalgic for the golden days,” lamented Ferguson before offering the rationalization that life after a hit show can be pretty sweet as well.
O’Neill dumped a bucket of ice water on Ferguson’s wishful thinking. “Who are we kidding?” he asked. “I didn’t want to get emotional up here, but you know what I miss about it most of all? The money.”
Turns out, the bit wasn’t such a joke. Based on a pair of dumb new commercials, those Modern Family stars do miss each other. And by each other, I mean “the money.

In a way, I’m relieved.
Reboots of all-time classics, of which “Modern Family” in the sitcom genre absolutely qualifies, are terrifying. The only thing they can really do is taint the reputation of the original.
On the other hand: what a disappointment.
“Modern Family” stars Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson have indeed reunited as their characters Phil and Claire Dunphy, Mitchell Pritchett, and Cameron Tucker on their ABC set — for a WhatsApp commercial. Because of course it was.
To be fair, the concept of the ad makes good sense in the “Modern Family” universe: Phil, Claire, and Cam are sharing photos of Haley’s twins in the family group chat. Phil blows the secret that it’s a different family group chat, drawing looks from Claire and Cam.
Mitchell is not in that one, and it is no oversight. The problem is his new...

The State of the Race
There are a lot less serial killer roles this time around when it comes to the contenders for the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie, though “True Detective: Night Country” and “Fargo” are still doing their best to keep the crime wave alive. Both the HBO and FX series boast several actors...

Not every comedy series can achieve the level of satirical excellence that The Simpsons once enjoyed — especially not those shows made by Seth MacFarlane.
Television has always played an important role within the universe of The Simpsons. After all, the sadly discontinued intro sequence famously ends with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie all crowding together on the couch to watch TV together before being sucked into a black hole, turning into butterflies or getting crushed to death by Rick and Morty. And, since the show prided itself on holding up a playful, yellow, four-fingered mirror to American society and pop culture, it inevitably had to playfully jab the other comedies on TV that were inferior to what Matt Groening and his writers had cooking.
The Simpsons has parodied scores of sitcoms and sketch shows since it began in 1989, and much of the mockery was just some friendly ribbing between...
