Mon in Assassin's Creed Shadows is the in-game currency you need to bribe some characters and buy things, like decorations for your Hideout or materials such as Wood, from Traders you meet in different settlements.

There are multiple different ways you can get your hands on Mon in Assassin's Creed Shadows, some methods require slightly more effort than others but you'll find that you're doing most of them without thinking about it while on your adventure.

How to get Mon in Assassin's Creed Shadows

To get Mon in Assassin's Creed Shadows you can kill Ronin, complete contracts, collect loot while adventuring around different areas and by selling items or valuables you don't need to traders.

Kill Ronin

Sometimes when you kill Ronin you can loot their corpse to get Mon or other useful items like Kunai. We highly recommend looting any Ronin that give you this opportunity, just watch your back for other enemies nearby or you'll find yourself under attack while collecting your Mon.

Complete Contracts

Some contracts that you can pick up in your Kakurega in your Hideout will reward you with substantial amounts of Mon upon completion. Be warned, some contracts will give you materials instead so it's worth paying attention to the contract rewards in the description box to ensure you'll get Mon.

Collect Loot

Looting the environment will eventually become second nature to you on your adventure as it's a good way of getting Mon, as well as other useful materials you'll need to progress on your journey. We highly recommend opening any chests and boxes you come across, even if they don't give you Mon you'll still get something useful from them.

Sell Items or Valuables

Selling items you don't need or your valuables to traders you'll find in some settlements is by far the easiest way to get Mon with little effort. When speaking to a trader, navigate to the 'Sell' tab and you'll see a list of all the items you can sell currently.

At the bottom of this list will be any valuables you've picked up on your adventure as rewards or by looting chests (see, we said looting would be useful!). We've found that selling these is the quickest way to increase the amount of Mon you've got.

If you're sure you don't want them, then other items can be quite lucrative to sell too but you must be certain you don't need them.
