By night, however, you are gripped by violent offences; you relish watching them play out on screen. If that sounds familiar, you are not alone. In 2024 crime dramas were among the most-streamed programmes in America. According to Ampere Analysis, a research firm, the genre made up almost a third of global streamers’ scripted commissions last year, up from 20% in 2020. Four such shows—including a murder mystery set in the White House and a mini-series that dramatises every parent’s worst nightmare—are among our recommendations this week.
