Symptom severity differed significantly (P < 0001, F = 62.89, df = 6) between provinces. Severity aver- aged about 3.41, was highest in Eastern (3.94) and Lusaka (3.88) provinces and lowest in Western (2.50) province (Table 2). Severe infections (> 3.6) were most prominent in Luapula followed by Lusaka and Eastern provinces. In contrast, the moderately severe infections Figure 1.
