The UCNS is pleased to announce the election of three new members to the Board of Directors. Get the details in the press release announcement.
The American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology (ABPN) announced in a recent press release that it received approval of its application to the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) to offer a certificate in the subspecialty of Neurocritical Care (NCC). The UCNS has administered NCC certification for physicians and accreditation for NCC training programs since 2007 and is committed to the continued support of this multidisciplinary subspecialty, the UCNS-certified NCC diplomates and accredited programs.
The 2018 UCNS NCC Recertification Examination and 2019 UCNS NCC Initial Certification Examination will take place as scheduled as will the continued accreditation of NCC training programs. Read the UCNS press release and the answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for additional information.
With the changing landscape of maintenance of certification (MOC), alternative models for recertification are emerging. The UCNS Board of Directors focused their recent strategic planning session on evaluating the UCNS recertification process. After careful evaluation of alternative models of MOC and feedback obtained through a survey of UCNS diplomates, the UCNS will embark on the development of a new continuous certification model that aligns with life-long learning and online knowledge assessment. Preliminary information is available in the official press release.
Don't miss out on applying for the 2019 UCNS Neuroimaging Initial Certification Examination. Applications for certification will be accepted through the August 15 extended deadline. The practice track eligibility pathway is available for the 2019 examination.
Promote your UCNS certification using new certification recognition resources. UCNS diplomates will find useful tools to educate the medical community, referral sources, institutions, and patients on the value of their UCNS neurologic subspecialty certification:
