Memorial erected in 1941 to honor Marconi (1874-1937), the inventor of the radio.
Marconi also received the Nobel Prize and the Albert Medal of the Royal Society of the Arts,
as well as being president of the Royal Italian Academy.

3' gilded bust, facing south, resting on top of a 7' h pedestal.
Behind is 6' x 15' h pedestal with a 9' gilded art-deco style nude,
arms extended, resting on a demi-globe suspended in clouds.
Pedestals of pink granite. Located at Lamont St/16th St/15th St(ext).

North inscription: Erected by popular subscription
and presented to the City of Washington
By The Marconi Memorial Foundation
