Zendaya Is Ready For Her ‘Close Up’ In New High-Fashion Music Vid

Her new Timbaland-produced song soundtracks a stunning Vivienne Westwood vid.

Just a few days after teasing material from her upcoming sophomore album, Zendaya has premiered her new song “Close Up.” And in a move befitting the young style icon, the sultry tune soundtracks a high-fashion music video featuring Vivienne Westwood designs, in partnership with HungerTV.

British photographer Rankin directed the super slick vid, which finds Zendaya modeling clothing from Westwood’s Fall/Winter 2015 and couture collections. Unsurprisingly, the 19-year-old looks stunning and strong in everything from a red gown to an oversized plaid suit, showing off her angles as she purrs, “Baby get closer, ready for my close-up.”

The Timbaland-produced song itself showcases an edgier and more mature sound than what we’re used to hearing from Z — which is exactly what she intended.

“I don’t necessarily want to make what’s already on the radio, or what every young girl my age is doing”, Zendaya told Hunger magazine in its fall/winter 2015 issue. “I want longevity, and if you want a long career, you have to be happy with yourself so you don’t go crazy, and the only way to do that is to be yourself.”

Zendaya’s as-yet-untitled sophomore album is due in early 2016 — and judging by “Close Up,” we’re in for plenty more surprises.
