Pro Musica is a friendly chamber choir based in Lewes. We perform to a high standard and our members are a mix of experienced singers and those who are new to choral singing and enjoy a challenge.
The choir is co-directed by Kathryn Sargent and Ray Maulkin. Together Ray, a choral and orchestral conductor, and Kathryn, an experienced soloist, teacher and vocal coach, aim to develop the choir’s singing and understanding of vocal technique. There is more to singing than just learning the notes!
During the concert season Pro Musica usually gives three performances. Our aim is to create a friendly sociable choral environment and to perform a varied repertoire of works in a wide variety of musical styles. We sing anything from Bach to the Beach Boys!
The choir rehearses at the Phoenix Centre in Lewes on Monday evenings during term time from 7.30 to 9.30 pm. There is a modest membership fee and a simple entrance voice hearing. Please see the information link above for further details
We welcome new members. It is normally possible to join the choir at any time during the year
