TGC, adopting "Japanese Real Clothes for the World" as its slogan, has been held twice a year since Summer 2005, and aims to be the biggest fashion festival for normal young-female consumers, not only press. This is not merely/just a fashion show, but a 'festival' incorporating live acts, a beauty contest and so forth in addition to over 20 brands' fashion shows intimately linked with a mobile commerce service which allows the audience to buy products worn by the models throughout the show in real-time. The 4th TGC recorded an audience of approximately 21,900 people.
This forthcoming TGC will take place in Saitama Super Arena on Sept 2nd, 2007. This fashion show's common theme is "super-mix" in which each brand demonstrates the latest A/W 'mix' coordination. This theme also implies the mixture among domestic brands and international designer's brands as 'Japanese Real Clothes'. Besides this, TGC has also booked big name celebrities as part of the on-the-day entertainment. Moreover, considering the massive venue, TGC enhances the audience’s experience with magnificent visual effects displayed on huge screens behind the stage. These screens are one of the most unique characteristics of TGC and they demonstrate how TGC is progressing in terms of content and visual effects.
TGC also includes the MISS TGC contest (the beauty contest of TGC) which collaborates with the SBS DRAMA PLUS Corporation (a Korean Television Channel). Finalists of the MISS TGC automatically acquire the right to represent Japan in the biggest beauty contest in ASIA- the ASIA PACIFIC SUPERMODEL CONTEST (APSC). The winner of APSC will be given many opportunities to play an active part international circles. Therefore the MISS TGC contest may be integral in turning out supermodels in the near future.
