Newest release includes first iPhone multi-touch and gesture emulation on Windows, PhoneGap framework for hybrid application development and App Store deployment, also Community Insights allows developers to directly observe the exploding innovations in the mobile Web

Flower Mound, TX (Vocus/PRWEB ) October 2, 2009 -- Genuitec, LLC, a founding and strategic member of the Eclipse Foundation, today announced the fourth milestone release (M4) of MobiOne Developer 1.0; the first integrated development environment (IDE) for the mobile Web developer.

Innovations in both smartphone browsers and the mobile Web is allowing for new application platforms based on HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript and mobile WebKit rendering technologies. This mobile Web application platform demands developers possess a new blend of skills ranging from traditional enterprise application architecture and development with Java, .Net and SQL to advanced Web design and implementation with AJAX and Web services. MobiOne Developer is the first IDE to recognize the challenges and needs of the new enterprise mobile Web developer community.

An integral activity of agile mobile Web development is rapid testing and evaluation. MobiOne provides iPhone and Palm Pre emulation through its "TruView" virtual mobile Web technology. In M4 the MobiOne team has added advanced multi-touch and gesture emulation support to the iPhone emulator experience. This means that developers can re-create the exact behaviors of an iPhone to write mobile applications that respond to the device touch screen.

"We’ve discovered that in a rush to incorporate mobile Web strategies, enterprise application designers and developers are not taking full advantage of the touch and gesture features of smartphones such as the iPhone," said Wayne Parrott, vice president of product development for Genuitec. "Since MobiOne’s beta release in May, we’ve worked feverishly to create the most compelling developer tools in the mobile space, first with the iPhone and Palm Pre emulators, and now with PhoneGap and multi-touch support for mobile Web development."

The open-source community is helping to rapidly advance mobile Web application development. To date, no less than eighteen different mobile frameworks exist just for the iPhone. Yet few mobile Web developers know of them and their rich user interface capabilities and smart device features. MobiOne is introducing Community Insights, an integrated feature that brings together real time news and information about mobile Web frameworks with numerous examples that can be instantly loaded into the MobiOne iPhone and Palm Pre emulators for evaluation.

"This time next year we expect the mobile Web to have matured significantly as smartphones get cheaper and more diverse, and desktop developers spend more energy creating applications for the computer in your pocket," said Maher Masri, president and CEO of Genuitec. "Mobile devices are becoming more prevalent and as the market grows, software developers will be armed for success with powerful tools like MobiOne."

This fourth milestone release of MobiOne Developer is free and available for Palm Pre and iPhone development only, but will soon support other smartphone devices with an aggressive delivery cycle. Targeted devices include Andriod/G2, Blackberry, and possibly Nokia and other smart devices being developed.

MobiOne’s extensible "TruView" virtual mobile Web technology delivers the emulation behavior of these smartphones through a pixel-perfect experience of true smartphone behaviors, not simple graphical simulations.
