About Realms

Realms started out as various pieces of news, reviews and roleplaying ideas that I put on my student homepage. I then left it to stagnate a bit (okay, a lot).

Round about 1999 I decided to revise the site, and it got re-invented as a portal site for RPGs, CCGS, and Wargames. I bought a domain name and some hosting.

The content ended up being more RPG related, so I eventually redesigned, focusing purely on reviews, articles, and news. I eventually dropped the news section, as there are other, better, RPG news sites out there.

Round about 2000 I started getting involved more with the RPG design forum at RPG.NET, and started to mooch around The Forge. It was around then that I put up the first versions of The Agency and Lost Gods, to some very positive feedback. Realms then began to evolve into a combination of resource site and promotional platform for my games. I recently moved the publishing side to its own site, you can find Realms Publishing there.

It's been in that format since then, though I've recently been branching out into Interviews.

Realms exists largely because I enjoy writing about RPGs, especially when I don't get to play them as often as I'd like. Realms is really just me, with occasional contributions from my various friends.
