Inside Move: Janssen out of ‘MIB:2’

Family illness triggers departure, rep sez; Boyle steps in

Famke Janssen is MIA from “MIB:2.”

Or more accurately, missing the action. Janssen was to have played Serleena, the female lead in Columbia’s “Men in Black 2” opposite Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones — but dropped out Wednesday after just one day of shooting. A rep for the actress cited an illness in the family.

Replacing Janssen in the big-budget actioner is Lara Flynn Boyle, the actress best known for her work on the Alphabet web drama “The Practice,” where she’s played assistant district attorney Helen Gamble for the past five seasons. Boyle next appears with James Spader in the StudioCanal laffer, “Speaking of Sex.”

Boyle is repped by ICM and managed by AMG.
