Thus, early diagnosis, made after Universal Newborn Hearing Screening (UNHS), become important to guarantee a better quality of life for those with hearing loss. This was a qualitative research, which objective was to investigate maternal perceptions and feelings faced to UNHS. The results, after content analysis, indicate the importance of health professionals to inform clearly and detailed about the exams that the babies will take, because lack of information may cause anxiety. Finally, it is understood that more studies are necessary in order to give a better understanding of this issue.
The aim of this study was to investigate the influences of parents on the career choice process o... more The aim of this study was to investigate the influences of parents on the career choice process of young people from disadvantaged socioeconomic classes. To this end, 200 students from the three high school grades collectively answered a questionnaire containing open and closed questions. The students were of both sexes and they were attending two public schools located in the outskirts of Rio Grande do Sul. The information from the open questions were analyzed through thematic content and data from the closed questions under descriptive statistical analyzes. The results showed that most participants do not believe they have been influenced by someone else in choosing a technical or a first degree course. Among students who identified interference in their career choice, parents were the most frequent. We conclude that parental opinion about the world of work conveys values that are considered by young people when setting their future plans.

Abstract This paper presents a systematic review of literature about the family experience of their daughters’ teenage pregnancy. Therefore, a search was performed in SciELO database using the keywords: gestation and adolescence and family; pregnancy and adolescence and family; pregnancy and adolescent and parents. There were found 66 papers, but only 10 of them met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After reading and analyzing the full-text of these articles, there were built three categories that show how family experience teenage pregnancy: 1) The impact of news of their daughters’ teenage pregnancy, 2) The difficulties of communication between parents and the adolescent, and 3) Family support. Seven women workers, with and without children, were interviewed. The information was submitted to content analysis. Two categories were identified: the meaning of paid work and the relation between paid work and motherhood. It was possible to verify that the professional career contributes to the economic and emotional independency of the women interviewed, besides enabling new social relationships. Moreover, the women tended to understand motherhood as a sacrifice, since they would need to give up their professional career temporarily to take care of their child. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar as principais dificuldades encontradas por estudantes uni... more O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar as principais dificuldades encontradas por estudantes universitarios com sintomas do TDAH no ingresso na universidade e verificar quais estrategias de enfrentamento estao associadas com uma melhor adaptacao academica. Participaram do estudo 28 estudantes universitarios. Os dados foram coletados coletivamente em sala de aula por meio de questionarios de autorrelato. As dificuldades relatadas pelos participantes foram submetidas a analise de conteudo. Tambem foram estimadas correlacoes (Pearson) entre as variaveis. Os resultados sugerem que as dificuldades mais frequentes se referem a necessidade de maior autonomia, concentracao e raciocinio, a relacao com colegas e a falta de informacao por parte dos cursos. Verificou-se tambem que determinadas estrategias de enfrentamento estao associadas com a melhor adaptacao academica. Parents' perceptions of their participation in their undergraduate children's career deve... more Parents' perceptions of their participation in their undergraduate children's career development This study aimed to investigate parents' perception of their participation in their children's career development. Nine parents of undergraduate students from the fi fth grade of a Psychology course were interviewed. After content analysis, three categories were identifi ed: conversation, emotional and material support, and infl uence by example. Parents not only talked to their children about the job market, but also supported them in their choices and insecurities, and offered fi nancial support. In the parents' opinion, their attitudes towards career can infl uence their child's occupational choice. These results may improve the assistance to young people, and also benefi t both children and parents in terms of professional counseling and career development.

A realizacao das oficinas buscava sensibilizar os participantes no que se refere as questoes de carreira e estimula-los a pensar sobre aspectos relacionados a escolha profissional. O conhecimento sobre a existencia da pratica de Orientacao Profissional tambem poderia incentivar os participantes a buscar atendimentos regulares, caso sentissem necessidade. Participaram das atividades 28 estudantes (20 do sexo feminino) do 3o ano do ensino medio com idades entre 16 e 19 anos. O objetivo deste estudo foi caracterizar a produção científica referente à psicoeducação da dor c... more O objetivo deste estudo foi caracterizar a produção científica referente à psicoeducação da dor crônica de forma a identificar quais modalidades de educação em saúde e psicoeducação estão sendo conduzidas, qual seu foco, para qual público-alvo e com que resultados. Foi realizada uma revisão sistemática da literatura em oito bases de dados nacionais e internacionais, de artigos publicados entre 1989 e 2020, em língua portuguesa e inglesa. Foram encontrados 1457 estudos, sendo 36 selecionados para análise. As informações foram organizadas nas categorias: conceito utilizado, foco do estudo, e características das intervenções. Verificou-se que a maior parte dos artigos não esclareceu o significado dos termos “psicoeducação” e “educação em saúde” embora seu uso tenha sido consistente e de acordo com a literatura. Este estudo descreve a experiência de três oficinas de apresentação oral de trabalhos para estuda... more Este estudo descreve a experiência de três oficinas de apresentação oral de trabalhos para estudantes universitários. As oficinas buscavam fornecer informações sobre a preparação e dicas para o dia da apresentação. Participaram das oficinas 33 estudantes de uma universidade pública do sul do Brasil. Os participantes concentravam-se nos semestres iniciais e finais da graduação. Os tópicos abordados envolveram preparação prévia, treino para a apresentação, ansiedade e dia da apresentação. Verificou-se que tanto calouros quanto formandos percebem a necessidade de desenvolver a habilidade de falar em público. Os calouros expressaram o desejo de se preparar para apresentações de trabalhos em sala de aula, enquanto os formandos buscavam maior preparação para apresentação do trabalho de conclusão de curso. Os participantes não pareciam enfrentar problemas no que se referia à preparação do material a ser apresentado e, até mesmo, ao treino da apresentação. A maior preocupação dos estudantes...
