In a move that should not surprise followers and fans of Death Grips, at all, their major label, Epic, is "working to dissolve [their] relationship" with the group. A statement from Epic:

Epic Records is a music first company that breaks new artists. That is our mission and our mandate. Unfortunately, when marketing and publicity stunts trump the actual music, we must remind ourselves of our core values. To that end, effective immediately, we are working to dissolve our relationship with Death Grips. We wish them well.

Death Grips signing with Epic was curious from the start, for a band who, throughout their brief career, have appeared uninterested in working within anyone else's confines. Just yesterday, the band shared what they claim to be private emails from Epic to their Facebook page-- sent to Death Grips after the band posted their new album NO LOVE DEEP WEB online for free, apparently without Epic's knowledge.

The band has also confirmed that they did indeed delete their Twitter.

Death Grips play Pitchfork Music Festival Paris this weekend, November 3, tickets for which are on sale here. The festival is also being webcast on our homepage.
