Cypselidae sunt dynastia tyrannorum Corinthiorum qui circiter inter 655 a.C.n. et 580 a.C.n. civitatem rexerunt (per 73 annos et sex menses, dixit Aristoteles). Primus Cypselus, Bacchiadum oligarchia remota, rerum potitus est ac triginta annos velut regnavit. Cui successit filius Periander cuius multa facta crudelia quamquam tradita sunt ipse tamen unus e septem Graeciae sapientibus habebatur (627–584). Postremo Psammeticus Periandri fratris filius tres annos regnavit (584–581) donec dynastia expelleretur.

Cypselidarum tempore maxime floruit Corinthusː vasa Corinthia, mira arte picta, in omnia litora Mediterranei maris disseminabantur, portoriis ob iter per Isthmum percipiendis magnas divitias colligebant, navibus tum plurimum in Graecia pollebant[1] ut qui triremes primi fabricaverunt. Item lautissima dona deis Delphis et Olympiae fecerunt[2]
