acidolysis

acidolysis

[‚as·ə′däl·ə·səs]
(organic chemistry)
A chemical reaction involving the decomposition of a molecule, with the addition of the elements of an acid to the molecule; the reaction is comparable to hydrolysis or alcoholysis, in which water or alcohol, respectively, is used in place of the acid. Also known as acyl exchange.

Son and Weiss prepared a copolymer by a melt acidolysis reaction between a thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer (TLCP) and sodium salt of poly(ethylene-co-/--acrylic acid) ionomer and used this copolymer in TLCP/low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and TLCP/HDPE blends as compatibilizer [27].
Lipase is also utilized for catalyzing esterification and acidolysis reactions (transesterification reaction) that result in the production of fatty acid esters and structured lipids, respectively.
Moreover, the extraction of the compounds from tissues requires complicated acidolysis, alkaline hydrolysis, or enzymolysis [3].
###After leaching###7.2###< 0.01###7) favors acidolysis, with the release and enhanced mobility of free metal cations by protonation [36].
Thus, Bodi Fluor 488 acid was coupled to the [O.sub.2]Oc-elongated Tat peptide resin (1, Scheme 1) to give intermediate 2, which could either be converted to free Bodi Fluor-Tat(48-60)Asp peptide 3 by acidolysis and HPLC purification (step ii, Scheme 1) or further elaborated for on-resin conjugation (see Scheme 1).
Toward the structural investigation, various lignins are produced via different degradation processes, such as milled wood lignin (MWL), acidic lignin, sulfite lignin, soda lignin, kraft lignin, organosolv lignin, cellulolytic enzyme lignin (CEL), enzymatic mild acidolysis lignin (EMAL), and lignin from thioacidolysis process [2].
The sinapoyl-peptide was removed from the resin with acidolysis with 95% TFA/[H.sub.2]O for 45 min.
This property makes possible for them to execute a number of catalytic reactions such as alcoholysis acidolysis aminolysis esterification and transesterification (Coradi et al.
The process uses optimized acidolysis and involves feeding polyurethane waste crushed into small pieces into the reactor vessel via a specially designed screw conveyor.
In an organic medium, they catalyze a number of useful reactions including esterification, transesterification, acidolysis, alcoholysis, regioselective acylation of glycols and menthols, and synthesis of peptides and other chemicals (SHARMA et al., 2001).
