LEGO Harry Potter - Dobby the House-Elf - Set 76421 - Review
This is LEGO set 76421 - Dobby the House-Elf from the LEGO Harry Potter theme with 403 pieces, which came out in 2023.
The build is a lot of fun and there're a few stickers to worry about. The build of the set is simple, but effective. We get Tom Riddle's diary, a buildable sock, a cake and Dobby himself on a stand. The diary and the plaque on the stand have stickers and Dobby can be removed from the stand. Dobby has a movable head, ears, arms, hands, fingers and feet. The Mixels ball joints should be made in a different colour, because the grey could ruin the colour scheme. The eyes are printed and look amazing, and the head is compatible with the old Bionicle figures from 2008, which is a lot of fun. A minifigure of Dobby is not included with this set, which is a bit unfortunate.

Disappointed in Dobby
Dobby was one of my favorite minor characters in the HP series. Hate to say I'm a bit disappointed in this Lego set. I hadn't read any reviews before I did the build. I honestly had a hard time figuring out what the large grey thing was. A sock??? Really?!? Um... Oooookaaay...
I like the fact that they included the cake, but I could not find a satisfactory way to display it. I put the finished model on a high shelf. Placing the cake beside Dobby makes it very difficult to see.
I love the fact that the build included a gold heart for Dobby (since he had such a big heart). I didn't mind the fact that it was hidden inside the model. We KNOW it was there. But I felt the gold hearts as book corners were inappropriate, given that the diary belonged to Tom Riddle. He wasn't exactly a "heartsy" kind of guy now, was he? A simple gold triangle would have been more suitable.
I feel the designers could have done a better job on Dobby's ears. And it's a shame this set didn't come with any minifigs.3 out of 4 people thought this review was helpful.
