Eagles Drop 91-58 Decision to Clemson

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's basketball team suffered a 91-58 loss to Clemson on Saturday at Conte Forum.
With the loss, Boston College is now 14-12 and 3-10 in the ACC. Clemson improved to 17-9 and 8-5 in the conference.
Junior Emma Guy led all scorers with 19 points, while freshman Taylor Soule had six points and a career-high nine rebounds. Clemson was led by Aliyah Collier with 18 points, while Kobi Thornton with 11 rebounds.
Clemson put together a 21-5 run in the final 5:20 of the first quarter to take a 29-14 lead after one. The Eagles could not find a hot hand and the Tigers' lead grew to 25 points with 3:12 to play in the half.
The Tigers shot 64.7 percent in the first half and outrebounded the Eagles, 25-18, while BC shot just 26 percent from the floor.
BC came out with a 4-0 run to start the second half with layups by Guy and freshman Marnelle Garraud. The Tigers offense stalled but BC could not capitalize. The Eagles best run came in the final minute of the quarter as Soule, Garraud and Guy scored to close out the quarter on an 8-0 run.
The Eagles outscored the Tigers, 20-12, in the third quarter, but trailed, 65-43.
Clemson committed 22 turnovers and the Eagles capitalized, scoring 19 points. The BC bench scored 23 in the contest. The game featured just one tie and three lead changes.
