99 Ranch Market, the other Asian supermarket chain coming to Austin, will make its local debut on Saturday, March 3. It will be found in Highland on Airport and North Lamar boulevards, in the same shopping plaza as conveyor belt sushi restaurant Kula Revolving Sushi Bar.
The supermarket will include a food hall featuring vendors from other 99 Ranch locations. Those include Chinese food spot Asian Gourmet Kitchen, which will serve roast duck, barbecue, and dim sum. BF Bakery and Cafe focuses on Asian baked goods like egg tarts, pandan cake, buns, bread, as well as coffee and tea. There’s a juice bar as well.
The rest of 99 Ranch’s grocery area will include Chinese, Korean, and Japanese produce, dry goods, frozen foods, meats, and more. The seafood counter boasts on-site steaming or frying for free. There will be local products as well.
99 Ranch will open under limited capacity until Friday, March 9. Then it will fully open on Saturday, March 10. This is all happening after Austin gets another Asian supermarket chain, H Mart, this week. It will open on Thursday, February 15, with its first-time food hall Market Eatery with two stalls helmed by San Francisco chef Deuki Hong
99 Ranch first opened in 1984 out in California, expanding with stores across the country, including Texas, Washington state, and Nevada.
