Enophthalmos of the right globe was present with relative paucity of retrobulbar fat (Fig.
The combination of the upper-eyelid ptosis and the lower-eyelid elevation narrows the palpebral fissure, giving rise to an apparent
enophthalmos.[20],[21],[22]
The classic signs of uveitis are the same in birds as they are in mammals--aqueous flare, hypopyon, corneal edema, and nonspecific findings, such as blepharospasm or
enophthalmos with third eyelid elevation.
It usually affects one side and may include medial canthal malposition,
enophthalmos, and skin hyperpigmentation.
When trauma to face compromises bony structure of orbit and displacing soft tissue content in it,
enophthalmos results.24 It is detected in 9.61% of ocular injury cases in our study.
Postoperative findings in 83 patients, particularly pain during mastication that did not regress for 6 months; plate exposition; plate infection; malocclusion; malunion/nonunion;
enophthalmos; and postoperative ectropion/scleral show which was not identified in the preoperative physical examination, and temporomandibular joint ankylosis that developed after condyle fracture in one patient were accepted as postoperative complications.
No
enophthalmos, diplopia, and eye motility restriction were clinically observed (Figure 2).
She presented with typical Marfan syndrome alterations in ectoscopy (pectus carinatum deformity, hindfoot deformity, wrist and thumb signs, scoliosis or thoracolumbar kyphosis, dolichocephaly,
enophthalmos, downslanting palpebral fissures, malar hypoplasia, and skin striae), and examination of the cardiovascular system was completely normal.
In cases of Horner's syndrome, there may be partial ptosis, miosis, anhidrosis, with or without
enophthalmos.
In his history taken from the family, it was learned that the patient's symptoms had increased gradually over the last two weeks and
enophthalmos and ptosis advanced day by day.
Pre-operative radiological examination should be performed in detail and consultation from the ophthalmologists should be requested with regard to the deformity of the orbital region, diplopia,
enophthalmos, or similar complications (8).
Around 10-35% of cases show ocular involvement, the most encountered manifestation is
enophthalmos characterized by sunken eye due to loss of adipose tissue around the orbit.
