Polemoniaceae que usualmente tienen hojas alternas, flores actinomorfas, petalos unidos, cinco estambres, y un ovario supero que no esta partido en cuatro (MOHLENBROCK, 1990), caracteristicas que, ademas de ser compartidas taxonomicamente, podrian sugerir afinidad en los habitos de arvenses agresivas comunes a varias especies de estas familias y con un reconocido y marcado exito en la adaptacion a ambientes variados, disturbados y agrestes.
