gym bunny
Someone who is obsessively preoccupied with maintaining or improving their physique and thus spends a large amount of time at the gym to do so. After recovering from his surgery, John spent a lot of time at the gym getting his body back into shape. Now he's turned into a total gym bunny. I turned into a real gym bunny during college, and I still hit the gym pretty much every day now. I only make it to the gym a couple times a week, but I always see the same gym bunnies there, no matter what day it is.
gym rat
slang Someone who spends an inordinate amount of time at a gym. I turned into a real gym rat during college. I go pretty much every day now. gym shoe
A sneaker, particularly one worn in gym class or to play sports. Unfortunately, I didn't realize I forgot my gym shoes until I got to the locker room. Anyone who's worn a uniform to school has experienced the panic of forgetting your gym shoes (or your entire gym uniform) on gym day. No, you can't play dodgeball in saddle shoes. Where are your gym shoes?
jungle gym
A structure made of poles and beams that children can play on, as found in playgrounds. The name comes from "Junglegym," a trademarked climbing structure first patented in 1920. I'm sick of tag. Come on, let's go play on the jungle gym! When I was seven, I fell off the very top of the jungle gym and broke my arm.
