Simplon

 

a mountain pass in Switzerland, at the junction of the Pennine and Lepontine Alps; located at an elevation of 2,005 m. The Bern-Milan highway runs through the Simplon pass, and the 19.7-km Simplon railroad tunnel is located nearby at an elevation of 700 m. [23–1200–]
