Kesranids
a dynasty of rulers (Shirvanshahs) of the feudal state of Shirvan (in Azerbaijan), who ruled from 1027 to 1382. Shirvan achieved its greatest power during the reigns of Minu-chihr II (1120–49) and Achsitan (1149–1203), when it became the center of the struggle against the Seljuks and for the independence of Azerbaijan. The Kesranid dynasty was followed by the Derbend dynasty.
