Speciality glass and ceramics company Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) said on Monday that a joint research facility on the Chinese mainland will be opened on Tuesday in partnership with Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS), at the Research and Development Center of SICCAS in Jiading, Shanghai.

The facility will provide Corning with a research platform to gain access to complementary expertise of SICCAS and related SICCAS technologies can be applied in new product development opportunities through collaboration with Corning at the new laboratory.
