സസ്യങ്ങളുടെ പേരുകളും അതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട മറ്റു സൂചികകളും രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനുള്ള ഒരു ഡേറ്റാബേസാണ് ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ പ്ലാന്റ് നെയിംസ് ഇൻഡക്സ്, International Plant Names Index (IPNI). സ്പീഷീസുകളുടെയും ജനുസുകളുടെയും നാമങ്ങളാണ് ഇതിലുള്ളത്.[2][3][4]
Brummitt & Powell (1992)-നെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി രചയിതാക്കളുടെ ചുരുക്കപ്പേരിൽ ഒരു പട്ടികയും ഇതിലുണ്ട്.
വിവരണം
[തിരുത്തുക]റോയൽ ബൊട്ടാണിക് ഗാർഡനും (Index Kewensis), The ഹവാർഡ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഹെർബേറിയവും (Gray Herbarium Index), ആസ്ത്രേലിയൻ നാഷണൽ ഹെർബേറിയവും (APNI) ചേർന്നുള്ള സഹവർത്വത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് IPNI രൂപം കൊണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഈ മൂന്നു സ്ഥാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്നുമുള്ള വിവരങ്ങൾ ക്രോഡീകരിച്ചാണ് IPNI ഡാറ്റാബേസ് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. പണ്ഡിതോചിതമായ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും IPNI പുതിയ പേരുവിവരങ്ങൾ ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.[3] ഈ ഡാറ്റാബേസിനെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി ഇതിനോട് പരിപൂരകമായ മറ്റൊരു പദ്ധതിയായ ദി പ്ലാന്റ് ലിസ്റ്റ് അവരുടെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത സസ്യ കുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ ആഗോള പട്ടിക പുതുക്കുന്നു.
