Porto-Novo adolah ibu kota jo kota tagadang kaduo dari nagara Benin. Wilayah kota ko mancakuik laweh 110 kilometer persegi jo pado tahun 2002 mampunyoi panduduak sabanyak 223.552 jiwa.[1][2]

Dalam sijarahnyo, kota ko pernah manjadi bawahan dari Karajaan Oyo Yoruba,[3][4] nan manawarkan palinduangan dari tetangganyo Fon, nan mampalaweh pangaruah jo kuasonyo di wilayah tu. Namo Porto-Novo baasa dari bahaso Portugih nan sacaro harfiah bararti “Palabuahan Baru”. Namo ko diagiahan dek urang Portugih banamo Eucaristo de Campos pado tahun 1730 dek kamiripan kota ko jo kota Porto.[5][6] Awalnyo dikambangan sabagai kota palabuahan padagangan budak.[7]
