- Wednesday, September 18 – Antique Appraisal at the Depot. This is a free event at the St. Louis County Depot, 506 West Michigan Street in Duluth. The St. Louis County Historical Society has arranged for Denny Mager of Northern Specialty, an expert in antique appraisal to be available from noon – 3PM in the rotunda.The public may bring up to two items per person for an informal oral identification and evaluation. - Wednesday, September 18 – Harvest Dinner from Trinity Lutheran Church, 11416 E 1st Street N in Lake Nebagamon from 4:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. Come for the roast beef dinner with homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, rutabaga, carrots, garden vegetables, rolls, pickles, dessert and coffee/milk. *Gluten free meals are available. Adults: $16 Ages 6-12 $7 and 5 and under are free. Take out dinners are available as well.
- Thursday, September 19 – New Hope for Families is holding their 5th annual LOVE Gala at the Pike Lake Golf & Beach Club, 4895 Midway Road in Duluth. The doors open at 5:00 p.m. for the silent auction. Dinner and program begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by a live auction. Tickets for the LOVE Gala are $75 and Lake Superior Catering will prepare the meal. - Thursday, September 19 – Sunday September 22 – The Head of the Lakes Kennel Club Dog Show this upcoming weekend. Along with the Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club, its the 2nd annual set of combined All Breed/Conformation Dog Shows at the Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds in Superior. The shows will run from Thursday September 19th through Sunday September 22nd. Both clubs are licensed with the American Kennel Club (AKC), making this a top level dog sport event in the area. Show hours are approximately 9 a.m. to finish of Best of Breed each day. Rings are planned to be setup both indoors inside the Curling Club and the other rings outside in the front grassy area. - Thursday, September 19 – Sunday, September 22 – 4th annual Oktoberfest and 6th anniversary party of Ursa Minor Brewing, 2415 W. Superior St. in Duluth. It’s a community event, free to the public. Thursday’s theme is Pride Day, with live music at 5 p.m., Steinholding at 6 p.m. and a free Drag show by Zenith City Horror at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday is Classic Oktoberfest with lots of activities including Live music, Das Wizard Tower, Das Beer Balancing, Steinholding, German Trivia and Spelling Bee. Sunday is Family Day with tie die from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Face Painting at noon, Lake Superior Zoo and mini petting zoo.
- Friday, September 20 – Saturday, September 21 – 9th Annual Special olympics “Roadrunners” Pasty Sale. Order from your local S.O. Pick up at Eveleth Masonic Lodge, 302 Adams Ave. in Eveleth on Friday after noon, and Saturday anytime until 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, September 21 – Fall Purse Bingo at the Belgian Club, 3931 E. 2nd St. in Superior. Proceeds benefit the Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse, Inc. Doors open at 11 a.m. with a noon start. $40 per game. 12+ games. You must be at least 18 years old to play. Cash only at the door with maximum capacity of 230 people. Get there early. - Saturday, September 21 – Night Sky Celebration! An evening of Art, Story, & Science at Fitgers in the August Fitger’s Ballroom, 3rd floor at 7 p.m. Travis Novitsky shows his beautiful night sky photography and will read from his best selling book “Spirits Dancing”. Astro Bob King will premiere his new book, “Magnificent Aurora” which explores our understanding of the Northern Lights from myth to mondern science. Ojibwe artist and author Sam Zimmerman will present his latest works focusing on the beauty of our northern landscape and the stewardhip of the Anishinaabe. The books and art will be available for purchase.
- Saturday, September 21 – Twin Ports Art Mixer Vol. 2 at Washington Center, 310 N 1st Ave W in Duluth. The event runs from 2:00 – 10:00 PM. The event is free. There are lots of things to do! - Saturday, September 21 – 43rd Annual Scandinavian Festival sponsored by the Twin Ports Rosemaling Society at Aspirus St. Luke’s Sports & Event Center, 704 Kirkus Street in Proctor. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission: $5, children 12 & under are free. The festival celebrates Scandinavian folk art and entertainment. Visitors can see rosemaling, wood carving, kolrosing, knitting, hardanger, jewelry, weaving, woodenware, lefse, and Scandinavian folk art demonstrations. There will also be Scandinavian music and treats.

- Thursday, September 26 – Puppa’s Pals presents its second annual Wags and Wine fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. at the Pike Lake Golf and Beach Club, 48095 Midway Road in Duluth. Tickets are $35 and there will be food, music, a cash bar, silent auction, games and prizes. Puppa’s Pals mission is to prevent people in crisis from having to surrender their pets. They provide respite foster care and medical support for the animals as well as resource support to keep pets and their humans together. - Friday, September 27 – Pints for a Cause at Castle Danger Brewery benefitting Great Lakes Aquarium at 17 7th Street in Two Harbors from 6 PM – 8 PM. Join them as they release their Pints for a Cause Great Lakes Aquarium Double IPA. A portion of the proceeds for every sale of this beer will be donated to the Great Lakes Aquarium. Celebrate this history every September, where the Amity Creek and Lester River meet, in Duluth’s beautiful Lester Park. It’s the 25th Anniversary! The Lester River Rendezvous opens up to the public from 10AM – 5PM with a Fall Festival, 50+ Food and Craft vendors, petting zoo and pony rides and much more.
- Saturday, September 28 – 3rd Annual Jordan Buck Day in Danbury, Wisconsin. There will be a parade followed by a town and area celebration including food trucks, booths and entertainment. James Jordan holds the world record for the biggest typical buck ever taken in the U.S. according to Boone and Crockett Club. Jordan shot the 10 point whitetail near his home on Nov. 20, 1914. Its antlers measured 206-1/8 inches according to the club’s scoring system. The event starts at 11 a.m. with craft show, food vendors, kid activities and more. Parade is at noon. - Saturday, September 28 – Great Trails Animal Rescue is hosting their 2nd annual ‘Paws in the Park Event’ from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the county building across from Yanmar Arena in Grand Rapids. - Sunday, October 13 – Poetry Reading at Drummond Public Library and Historical Museum, 14990 Superior Street in Drummond at 2 p.m.. The public is invited to attend, and will be invited to share one or two short poems about any theme. Then regional poets published in the 2025 Wisconsin Poets (Desk) Calendar will read their works. The new calendar has the theme of “shine.” Refreshments will be served following the readings. Calendars, poetry books, and poetry note cards will be available for purchase. This event is sponsored by Drummond Public Library and Cable Hayward Area Arts Council (CHARAC).
